But Durbin sure as hell isn't giving up those nutrient solutions.
That early morning, Durbin held up his front paw and snapped a photo of Sophia with a blue screen.
Sophia is still really into this high-tech gizmo. She cautiously clicked on the blue screen, which is a see-through floating phone.
Durbin studied her for a moment, seemingly figuring out what she was up to. He used his paw to angle the screen, and Sophia eagerly leaned in.
She realized she couldn't understand a single word.
Okay, so now she's illiterate.
Just then, Sophia saw another robot emerge from the room.
She didn't get a good look at the room's layout, but she noticed two plates on the robot.
These plates were like ones on Earth, with some slightly reddish grilled meats spread out on top, plus a big piece of sashimi, a green vegetable puree, and a plate of really fragrant cookies.
Compared to Sophia's poop-flavored nutrient solution, this stuff looked way too delicious.
The robot stopped in front of Durbin, and Durbin opened his mouth and took a bite of the sashimi.
After chewing it a few times, he swallowed it and then somehow retrieved the nutrient solution and shoved it towards Sophia.
This disparity really ticked Sophia off.
The owner gets to eat this kind of food, but she gets "s**t"? With that thought in mind, Sophia first picked up the nutrient solution.
When Durbin nodded in satisfaction, Sophia quickly snatched a piece of grilled meat from the plate and took a bite. Sophia took a bite and immediately realized something was off. The grilled meat had a weird smell, but she ate too fast to spit it out.
She swallowed it whole.
Sophia made a face and let out a gagging noise.
Durbin suddenly sprang to his feet and lunged at her, pressing his head against her stomach, almost making her vomit.
This is far from over. Seeing that Sophia didn't puke, Durbin lifted his paw and stomped on her stomach. He even did it a few times, and Sophia almost passed out.
Is there something wrong with that piece of meat?
Sophia hasn't had real food in a few days since she got to this planet, and she hasn't really thought about it.
But then she realized something was wrong, and she felt a searing pain in her stomach.
At the same time, her intestines and bladder made weird noises.
This strange and familiar swelling and pain...
Sophia doubled over in pain, covered her butt, and let out a panicked cry, "No!!!"
Petbook 3:00 PM
Ronson loves Candy: I took the day off today, but Candy has diarrhea.
Angel's Dad: What's going on?
I'm a tree, did you feed Candy something she shouldn't have eaten?
Ronson loves Candy: Candy has been craving snacks instead of eating properly. She knocked over the nutrient solution a few times.
Ronson loves Candy: Does she not like this food?

Candy turned her head and silently protested. jpg
Angel's Dad:... is this s**t?
I'm a tree, are you making your Candy eat s**t?
Ronson loves Candy: This is not s**t! This is a new automatic feeding machine from Truss that can automatically synthesize pet food by putting in food materials. It can also regulate the proportion of various food materials to ensure the most healthy intake.
Mushroom flying: So you synthesized this s**t.
Ronson loves Candy:... I think some ingredients have excessive pigment content, so I chose to remove the pigment... but it's still very healthy.
Mushroom flying: ... why don't you eat it?
Ronson loves Candy: I tried it myself before giving it to Candy.
Angel's Dad: ...
I'm a tree: ...
Mushroom flying: ...
Mushroom flying: Listen, even though your dogs have a natural tendency to eat feces, it doesn't mean other creatures will do the same.
Ronson loves Candy: Yo, who said dogs have a natural tendency to eat s**t? That was a behavior caused by the poor living conditions of primitive world creatures, not enough intake of trace elements. This is the modern age, not some ancient times!
Ronson loves Candy: This is not s**t! It just looks like it!
I am a tree: Next time you make something, make it look nicer in the end, not just...a pile of crap.
Ronson loves Candy: Dude, focus! Candy has major diarrhea!
I am a tree: Take her to the vet.
Angel's Dad: You have time to ask on Petbook, why haven't you taken her to the vet yet?
Ronson loves Candy: She won't go, she's holding her butt and crying hard. As soon as I get close, she starts screaming. What do I do?
I am a tree: The most important thing now is to change her diaper, clean her up, put a new diaper on, and then give her some medicine.
Ronson loves Candy: I know that, but Candy hid in her little room.
I am a tree: Go and lift the roof, you know how they can be sometimes.
3:20 PM
Ronson loves Candy: I lifted the roof, dragged Candy into the bathroom, and forcibly changed her diaper. You don't want to see that scene.
I am a tree: A chocolate fountain?
Mushroom flying: My pet had this problem before too, but it was my fault. I was planning on buying cod for him, but ended up buying canned herring. He got diarrhea for a long time.
Angel's Dad: Ronson, did you give Candy her medicine yet?
Ronson loves Candy: Any recommendations? I don't know what to give her.
Mushroom flying: How's Candy doing now?
Ronson loves Candy: She's sitting in the bathroom crying and has diarrhea. I've never seen her so upset before.
Angel's Dad: You need to give her water or she'll get dehydrated.
I am a tree: What did you feed Candy?
Ronson loves Candy: I gave Candy some water, but she snatched the roasted meat off my plate - the juicy Spitfire Dinosaur meat.
Mushroom flying: Haha, yeah, that's a tough one. But listen, all that dinosaur meat is tough for humans to digest, but it shouldn't hurt too much. Just make sure to give Candy more water, okay?
Angel's Dad: A lot of stuff that humans can't eat, and they're always up to no good when it comes to stealing food. Just thinking about it gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Ronson looked away from the blue screen.
Candy was lying there, not moving, while Ronson was just kind of eyeballing her for a while, and finally he let out a sigh of relief.
The diarrhea had finally stopped. "Candy!" He called out a few times, but Candy just lay there sobbing, her whole body trembling.
Ronson leaned over and got down on his haunches in front of Candy.
Candy had just been cleaned up, her body was all wet, and her eyes were red, tears streaming down her face.
Seeing Candy like that pretty much defused Ronson's anger, leaving only helplessness.
"Don't steal anything again, Candy," he said, then lowered his head to give her a gentle lick on the head.
Candy couldn't understand his words, of course, and Ronson felt a little deflated.
Ronson remembered the instructions on the petbook and pushed his head against the kettle, gesturing for Candy to take another sip.
Candy, with tears still hanging on her face, obediently picked up the kettle and held it in her arms, crying and sucking the straw from the kettle.
Ronson's heart twitched as he quietly lifted his front paw and took another photo, which was quickly transmitted to his pet book.
