With Tyler's arms still around me, he sat me on the bed and held me as I cried. In the span of minutes, I lost my boyfriend and my best friend. I felt crushed and angry. "How could I be so blind to not see all the signs that were in front of me the whole time." I said threw my tears, trying not to lose the last bit of control I had.
"This is not your fault, Nina. If they wanted to do something, it was going to happen no matter the circumstance or who got hurt." Tyler replied while rubbing my back to comfort me. "I thought he loved me and.....and April was my best friend. I never thought she would do that to me, let alone not feel sorry about it." I said as I cried even harder. I cried as Tyler held me. The way Tyler cared for me had me feeling at ease, and it seemed that time had stopped. Tyler smelled like honeysuckles and fresh air. I inhaled his scent deeply, which made me relax even more and feel at ease. Finally, pulling myself together, I stood up looking around his room and noticed all the beautiful drawings he had posted on his wall they were really amazing, i had came across a drawing of the river by his house and noticed in the distance of the picture there was a girl leaning against the tree writing in her notepad. "Could that be me." I wondered to myself, not wanting to assume I just kept that thought to myself for the time being. I turned back towards Tyler. "Thank you, Tyler, for everything. I really appreciated you being here for me." I said, giving him a half smile. "It's no problem that a**hole isn't worth anymore of your tears. Why don't we go and get a drink to calm your nerves." he said, staring at him, I gave him a slight nod. Tyler took my hand and led me out of his bedroom, and towards the kitchen, by this time, everyone at the party was drunk and didn't pay us no mind as we walked past. I was praying that I wouldn't run into Chad and April, but luck wasn't on my side. As we entered the kitchen, there stood Chad and April hanging all over each other, laughing and kissing. I wanted to turn on my heels and run, but Tyler's grip on my hand tightened, leading me into the kitchen to the bar of drinks that were set up for the party. Tyler was mixing me a drink when Chad layed his eyes on us, anger filled his eyes. Chad walked over to us and shoved Tyler. "What the hell do you think you're doing with my girl." he bellowed, fist clenching. Tyler turned to face him, and if looks could kill, Chad wouldn't be standing. "After what Nina just caught you doing with her friend, you are in no place to call her your girl." Tyler replied. Chad laughed. "What, that little misunderstanding upstairs, come on man, it's not that serious it's not like Nina was going to give it up, she's the poster child for celibacy, I'm a man and I have needs you know how that is." Chad said half laughing while giving a slight jab to Tyler's shoulder. Before I could even get a word in Tyler grabbed Chad by the collar and slammed him against the wall, and punched him right in the jaw. Tyler yelled, "Get the f*ck out of my house and stay the hell away from Nina. You're a piece of sh*t for what you have done, now get the f*ck out." Shoving Chad out of the kitchen, he landed on his a** in the middle of the living room. drunk and embarrassed Chad got up and walked out with April hot on his trail. I have never known Tyler to be the aggressive type. He has always kept to himself, but I couldn't help but feel my heart flutter when he stuck up for me. "Alright, guys parties over everyone get out." Tyler boomed. Everyone darted for the door not wanting to be in the wrath of Tyler. I started to walk towards the front door when Tyler grabbed my hand to stop me, I felt a shock of electricity run through my veins from his touch. "Stay for a while. You are in no condition to go home." Tyler said. "Um, thank you, but I'm sure I'll be alright." I replied, still holding onto his hand, I couldn't break my eyes away from his they were so beautiful. His eyes were light green with a touch of blue, it reminded me of the river, and I was in awe of them. "I still owe you that drink." Tyler said in a husky voice. He walked closer to me until he was inches from my face. "Okay, yea, I....I... I guess I could use a drink." I replied, trying not to stumble over my words, but something about him made my insides burn with desire. I looked away so he wouldn't see how red I was turning. "What the hell is wrong with you Nina, you just caught your boyfriend cheating on you. Why are you getting hot for a guy you barely know." I thought to myself. My mind was right. I don't need to rush into this, but God, I wanted to. Something about him stired my insides to the point i could burst. Tyler poured us some drinks, and we went to sit down on the couch. I was so close to him I could reach out and touch him if I wanted to, but my mind fought against. We sat a talked for a while I and was more than excited for his company.
