I could only stare at him in disbelief, wondering how he could say those words so casually, as if it meant nothing much, about how calm he was being regarding the whole thing. I could not tell if he was being serious or not, at least until his next words came, in confirmation to the statement which I had uttered prior on.
Aiden’s eyes held a sense of calmness as he looked down at me, not seeming to be startled a bit by my shock. Then, his voice came, sounding so certain. “You heard me right little fox,” He affirmed with a nod of his head, “I am staying with you tonight.” His voice was soft, though there was something about his tone that told me he meant every word he had uttered.
