A Dream

Preparation

It's been 2 weeks since I got an offer from my boss. For the past 2 weeks, I focused on my midterms and studying the culture and language of the country I was going in to.

Regarding on my studies, mom recommended me to transfer in one of the universities in there and I consult it to my boss and he definitely agreed to it. So, for the past 2 weeks, I also gathered all of the needed documents from school to passport and many more papers that is needed for my take off. Because I wanted to spend my remaining weeks with my family.

Sky and I decided to take a walk outside to unwind ourselves. While we are in the park, I saw a vendor of dirty ice cream so I immediately bought myself one. This ice cream tastes to good even though it doesn't have a brand.

After I finished my ice cream, I decided to take a break at the bench under the tree here at the park. Sky also sat under the bench. I lean my head at the bench as i feel the air touching my skin. This is so refreshing.

After taking a walk outside, sky and I decided to go home because it's getting dark outside.

As we got home, sky and I immediately goes to my room because I need to wash myself up. Mom and Dad will be at home later so I need to wash myself and prepare for our dinner tonight. Earlier, I volunteered that I will be the one who will cook our dinner for tonight.

While I was taking a bath, I heard a knock to my comfort rooms door.

"Eliza, hurry up in there! someone is waiting for you"

someone? I don't remember having a visitor for today. besides it can't be beatrice because she is busy with her midterms.

"who is it mom?" I asked while washing my hair.

"It's a secret sweetie, so hurry up in there so they won't be waiting for so long" mom said as she giggles while walking out of my room.

Due to the curiosity, I immediately finished my shower and dress myself up. As I finished dressing myself up, I wen to the living room to greet my unexpected visitor.

As I step closer to the living room, I heard a faint voice calling my name at the living room.

"Eliza" I froze as I heard that voice. The voice are coming from the person I misses the most. My heart felt so happy that I am now in tears while looking at that person.

"Mama"

I ran into her and hugged her tightly. It's my grand mother.

It's been a 2 years since I saw her. She lives in our province at Cebu with my grand father. I once recommended to them to just stay in our house so that we can take care of them since they are getting older. But they hardly refuse my recommendation because the reason is that they are managing their land in there and they just can't live.

"When did you gotten so big already? I can barely hold you right now" mama said as she patted my hair while I was hugging her.

"Mama, I missed you. I thought I would never get a chance to see you before I leave" I said as I was sobbing while hugging her.

Mama suddenly giggles at me and says, "Mama wouldn't let her favorite grand daughter to leave without hugging her"

"Thank you for coming here mama, where is papa by the way?" I asked as I break to our hug.

"Papa wanted to come here as well but he chose to stay in there because no one is gonna take care of our land in there."

I pouted at her and answered,

"I miss us being completed, mama"

Mama smiled at me,

"Don't worry, we will be completed soon when everything is settled up"

I smiled at her and hugged her again.

After that, I prepare our dinner for tonight, I cooked Chicken Adobo with boiled egg and potatoes. Mama helped me to peel the potatoes and boil the eggs. After mama and I cooked tonight's dish, I immediately settled up the table and have our dinner together.

Mama are going to sleep in my room since mom and dad's room are occupied with them. Hay I missed this, having mama beside me. When I was a child, I was really close with them because I'm still in their care, in our province. Not until, we need to moved here in manila. I barely see them since then. And we don't have any communication because you know, mama at papa doesn't know how to use cellphones way back then.

I hope that papa can make it before my take-off. I really wanted us to be completed before I leave so that I feel completed while I was moving abroad. I want to make more memories that I can bring in there.

"Goodnight, Mama" I said while covering her with my blanket.

"Goodnight, Eliza. Sleep right away after your work, don't overwork yourself, okay?" I smiled at her,

"Yes, Mama. Sleep now, it's getting late" I nagged

She laughs at me and answered,

"You really like your mom when you are nagging at me"

I laughed at her and watched her closing her eyes. My mama is getting older. I do wish that God gave her long lives so that I can take care of her and show her that I made it when I reached my dreams. I wanted her to be one of the witnesses of my success.

Mama, I promise to give you the better and comfortable life , so please take care of yourself while I wasn't in here. I wanted you to stay healthy and live a long lives so that you can be by my side while I was reaching those dreams...
