Chapter 36 ** The next day ** Jolene's POV… "Are you sure we are going to find her at the shore?" I asked Harrison for the tenth time since we started the drive. We are going to search for Zelda at the nearby streams, seas and rivers that are around my kingdom. I really hope we will find her, I feel so indebted to her. Anytime I just think about the incident, I feel so grateful, I would have literally died if she had not brought the antidote. I would have lost everything to that greedy and desperate sister of mine and no one would have known she is that evil. "I don't know but I have a feeling that we are going to find her there since we can't find her in any of the houses in our kingdom. Nobody even knows anyone called by that name, she would probably be living close to a stream, sea or a river." He replied and I sighed. Something crossed my mind and i gasped lightly, "What?" "What if her name isn't Zelda? What if she told you a rake name so she won't get into trouble?" I queried and Harrison exhaled sharply. "I don't know but let's be positive, we are going to search the stream where most of our pack members visit to get water." "Okay, but can you trace her scent?" I asked and Harrison laughed loudly. "Don't let us get into an accident with these silly questions you're asking me. How can I trace her scent when we aren't even mates?" "But it's still a bit possible, if you remember her scent, we might be able to find her easily." "I can't, I was too worried to find out what she smelt like." He replied and I breathed out. "Can you tell me what she looks like?" I asked sillily in order to get on his nerves. He hit the steering wheel frustratingly and I laughed. "Gosh; you have a short temper, I was curious so I decided to ask." "Ask silly questions? Jolene, let me concentrate." He said and I chuckled. But still, Zelda sounds a bit familiar to me, I sincerely don't know how to express the way I feel anytime I am around her. Well, let's see her first. I suddenly felt Harrison's eyes on me and I looked at him swiftly, he turned away immediately. "What are you looking at? I thought you asked.e to allow you concentrate, why then are you staring at me? Do you want us to get into an accident?" "Stop being dramatic and stop trying to sound like me." He warned and I laughed again. "We are here," he suddenly announced and I looked around through the car window. I was expecting to see a flood of people but I could barely see anyone around, the shore was so scanty. "Are you sure we are going to find her here?" I asked, coming out from the car, Harrison came out from the other side. "Let's search by ourselves," he whispered and I searched. We got to the shore and met three people. We asked about a lady called Zelda. But they said they don't know anyone by that name. I am beginning to wonder if the Zelda of a lady is a ghost. "What are we going to do now?" Harrison asked and I sighed. "I don't know and I don't want to give up yet, let's walk to the end of the shore." "What! There's no one there, maybe we should check for another stream or river nearby," "No! " I disagreed and he sighed. We continued walking until we got to the end of the shore and we didn't see any single one, no buildings, it's just empty. "I told you, you just made me walk for nothing." Harrison complained. I kept looking around carefully, my eyes suddenly caught footprints on the sandy ground. My attention got drawn and I drew closer, Harrison followed me immediately. The foot mark on the floor was stained with blood which baffled me. "What does this mean?" "The owner of the footprints got attacked," "Let's follow the footprints, we might find something interesting." I suggested and Harrison scoffed. "We came to look for Zelda, I hope you haven't forgotten." "Yeah I know but what if the owner of this footprint is in danger? What if the owner is Zelda?" I queried and he sighed. "Fine!" He finally agreed and I exhaled. The footprints led us into the woods. It seems the owner of the footprints was badly injured because I could still see drops of blood around the footprints. "What's that?" Harrison suddenly shouted and I swiftly faced the direction of where he was pointing. Behold, there was someone lying unconscious and was also covered in blood, the person was a few meters away from where we stood. "Let's go check it out," We got to the place where the body was and was surprised to see a lady covered in blood. I guess she is the owner of the footprints. She was brutally injured and it looked like claw wounds, I guess she was attacked by rogues. There was a house opposite where we were, I guess the lady was trying to get in, it must be her house. "Let's help her out, check if she is still breathing.''I ordered Harrison, he bent beside her and turned the unconscious lady to face him. He suddenly gasped and I wondered what went wrong. "What is it?" I asked curiously but he looked so shocked. "Is she dead?" I asked again but he didn't give me a reply. "This is the lady we have been looking for, this is Zelda!" He yelled out and my eyes widened. I looked closely at the lady and found out she looks so familiar, "Carry her immediately, be quick! She must not die," I yelled and helped him place Zelda on his back. We then rushed back to where our car was parked, I sat at the backseat with Zelda so as to monitor her. She was still breathing but her breaths were faints. Harrison got in the driver's seat and drove out at speed.
