Chapter 37 Jolene's POV…. "Make sure nothing happens to her, try and make sure she stays alive. Just do anything you can do," "Sure, she would be fine so you have nothing to worry about." The doctor assured and rushed into the emergency room where Zelda was. I just pray she survives, what really happened to her? Why is she in that bloody state? I and Harrison just arrived at our pack a few minutes ago with Zelda and we rushed her to the clinic. "Don't worry, I am sure she will be fine, you should just remain calm." Harrison patted my shoulder and I sighed. "Do you have any idea on what could have happened to her?" I asked and he shook his head negatively. "Nothing, that day we met, she didn't tell me anything about herself except her name. I am sure everything would go well, I am glad we arrived at the woods earlier if not she must have died." "I guess she got attacked by rogues, she was brutally wounded, I feel so much for her." I muttered sadly and Harrison gave me a side hug. "Let's just be positive," Suddenly, a guard rushed towards us, he then bowed. I wondered what message he had to deliver for me. "Alpha, your father requests your presence." He delivered and I exhaled, father must have heard I brought a strange lady covered in blood, there's nothing that can be hidden under the moon. "Where is he?" I asked "He is in his chambers," he replied simply. "I would be there in a few minutes," I said and the guards rushed off. "What are you going to tell father?" "I don't know but I can't possibly tell him the truth if not, that ungrateful Paulene might get into trouble." I muttered and hissed. "Don't worry, I would know what to tell him, you just watch over Zelda and inform me once she wakes." I walked out of the clinic and went straight to my father's chambers, I knocked gently and waited for his permission before going in. "Come in," I opened the door and went in immediately. "Father, you called me." I stood opposite him and he raised his head to face me. "Yes I did, I heard you brought in a lady covered in blood, who is she?" He queried Andi sighed. If I tell him that she was the one who saved my life, he would grow curious and would like to know the story behind it. That's just like putting Paulene into trouble and I wouldn't want to do that. "She is just a friend, I found her covered in blood in her home, I guess she got attacked by rogues. I decided to bring her to our clinic so she would get treated." My father dropped the newspaper he was reading and faced me. "Just a friend and we don't know any single thing about her? I have never seen you make friends or even talk about anyone." He said and I gulped. "Well, she is my friend. It would be so unfair of me if I had abandoned her, you have nothing to worry about. She is not a harmful person and she is going to be living with me soon." I announced and my father looked at me surprisingly. "Living with you soon?" Well, I've thought about it before and have offered to make Zelda one of my personal maids. I wanted to seek her consent after we met but unfortunately, this incident happened. I am not sure she was going to accept but I want her around me. I kind of feel like I have known her somewhere but I can't just remember. Judging from how we found her in the woods in front of her house, I guess she stays alone in that house. I've been wondering if she has a family or a relative or if she was an orphan who lives near the stream. Well, I am going to know all of that once she wakes. "Yes dad, I am planning to appoint her as my personal maid, she lives all alone near the stream." I explained and my father sighed. I guess he wasn't really okay harboring a stranger. "Is she from our kingdom?" He asked and I bit my lower lips. I don't know about that but I think the answer would be positive. If she was from my pack, she wouldn't be living near the stream, she might probably be a werewolf. "No, father! I would answer all your questions once she wakes, I need to leave." I said and rushed out. "Jolene!" My father called and I stood on a spot. "Be careful," "Sure," I replied and rushed out. Gosh! My father likes asking a lot of questions. Well, I guess he is just looking out for my safety. I rushed back to the pack's clinic and couldn't find Harrison at the reception. I rushed to Zelda's ward and net Harrison there, she has been moved from the ER. "How's she?" I asked, sitting beside Zelda on the bed. "The doctor said her injuries are not that serious, if she has a fast healing process, everything would disappear before tomorrow morning." Harrison replied and I sighed. "When will she be conscious?" "Probably in an hour or two bit she is fine and stable," I sighed in relief, I am glad that she's fine. I stared at her face deeply, why do I feel like I have known and met her somewhere? I can't just remember anything about her but I kept having this feeling of familiarity. "Zelda! Zelda!" Her name rang in my head and I closed my eyes tightly. "I'd do everything alright with you Jolene?" Harrison suddenly asked and I opened my eyes immediately. "Yeah, just trying to…." He interrupted me all of a sudden. "She is awake! " My eyes darted to Zelda and truth be told, she was awake already. "Zelda! Zelda! Can you hear me?" I called out and shifted closer to her. She sat up and kept looking at me and Harrison at intervals. "Where am I?" TBC
