Chapter 44 Jolene's POV…. I got into my room and met everywhere neatly arranged, I guess Zelda must have cleaned my room this morning. Since she became my personal maid, I noticed she is very obedient and always does things that pleases me. I now see her as my sister and discuss personal stuffs with her, these past few weeks, I have been avoiding Paulene like a plague and drew more closer to Zelda By the way, I haven't seen Zelda around this morning, where could she be? I pulled off my clothes and entered my bathroom, I then had a cool bath. I put on a simple dress and went in search of Zelda, I checked her room but she wasn't in there. I hope it's not what I was thinking? I am not going to keep quiet anymore if I find Paulene bullying her again. I have been trying to avoid getting into fights with Paulene or even talking with her. I don't want to have anything to do with her anymore, we are just sharing the name sister because we were born by the same mother. There are no other strings attached, if someone I call my sister could have the heart to poison me, then I don't consider her as my sister anymore. She can go to hell for all I care! I got to Paulene's room but it seems Zelda wasn't there either. I heard Paulene's yelling from the lobby close to her room and I rushed there. And like I guessed, Paulene was bullying Zelda. The latter was on her knees while Paulene kept raining cuss words on her. "What's going on here?" I thundered and Paulene faced me. "Oh you're here sister, actually…." I interrupted her immediately. "Point of correction, stop addressing or calling me 'sister', you're forbidden from calling me that." I spat and she chuckled. "Whatever, this thing you call a maid doesn't deserve to be a maid, I gave her an order but she stubbornly refused to obey my order. Is this the kind of person you want to keep as your personal maid? This is just too unbelievable, being the Lycan king, you should have high taste when it comes to anything. I didn't expect you to pick an abandoned and a rejected thing as your personal maid. Isn't that do kos of you?" I balled my fist and stared at the devil standing a few meters away from me. I knew she was trying to get on my nerves but I am too big to start exchanging words with her. "Zelda, stand up and come with me." I ordered. Zelda tried to stand up but Paulene pushed her to kneel back. "She isn't leaving until she disobeys my orders," Paulene fired at me and I chuckled. Gawd! I am losing it, I am beginning to lose my cool. "You clearly heard yourself when you called her my personal maid which simply means, she has no business with you, she has nothing to do for you so stop trespassing." I yelled at her. "I also want a personal maid or am I not entitled to have one," she asked with a silly smile and I gritted my teeth angrily. I feel like I am about to explode, I am trying to maintain my cool but Paulene is craving to be dealt with! "If you need one, then go look for one, stop trying to interfere in my matters. I have clearly warned you to stay off my lane, I sincerely don't know what your problem is. If I unleash my anger on you, you won't like it." I warned and pulled Zelda up but Paulene suddenly pushed my chest. "What! What can you do? Stop trying to act like you're a saint, stop keeping quiet, it annoys me the most. Why have you been avoiding me like a plague? Why have you been keeping me quiet? Stop hiding your true colors and be real for once!" She yelled at me and I exhaled sharply. "You know what? You're obviously sick in the head, you're only pained because you have no one to talk or associate with. Who would even like to associate with the devil's advocate?" I sneered at her and eyed her irritatedly before leaving with Zelda. "Fine! You said we can rule the pack together, right? Well, I won't be greedy anymore, appointment me as your second in command, let's rule the pack together." She requested and I stopped on my tracks. I retraced my steps and closed up the space between us, I leaned closer and whispered some words into her ears. "A murderer can't rule my father's kingdom, it's better for you to stay low and quiet, don't cross the line Paulene. This would be my last warning," I left her fuming and Zelda immediately followed me out. "I am sorry you met me in that state, I did as you told me but she got pissed and asked me to go on my knees. I had no choice but to obey her," Zelda explained and I faced her. "Wait, did she hit you?" I asked when my eyes caught a wound at the side of her head, she was bleeding. "Not at all, she wanted to slap me but I ducked and in the process dashed my head against the wall. Don't worry, it's nothing, I am fine." Zelda assured and managed to smile. I knew she wasn't fine, she is an Omega and has a slow healing process, it takes twenty fours hours before her wounds can heal. "You're so silly, come here." I muttered, dragging her into my room. I made her sit on my bed and then brought the first aid box, and I began treatment immediately. I started with cleansing using methylated spirit and a cotton wool, after that, I closed up everything with a plaster. "All done," I returned the first aid tools back into the box and kept it at its normal position. "Thank you Jolene," she appreciated and I smiled. "It's nothing, I need to…" she interrupted me suddenly. "I mean thanks for everything, you've been so kind and nice to me, I don't know what would have happened even if you never helped me. I promise to serve you well and I would never do anything that will hurt you or betray you. You can count on my words," she promised and I chuckled. I joined her on the bed and sighed heavily, "I am glad you feel so happy and satisfied, don't hesitate to reach out to me if anyone tries to bully or hurt you and you must not keep things from me." I remembered and she chuckled. "Sure Alpha, do I have anything to do for you?" She asked standing up but I pulled her back to sit. I wanted to discuss Harrison, I have confronted Harrison so it's her time to confront her too. "Do you like Harrison?" I suddenly asked as she blinked like a doll. "What do you mean?" She asked as she bit her lower lips, I sensed that she was feeling so nervous. "Just tell me the truth," She sighed heavily and clasped her hands together. "Yes, I actually do but I am sure it's just a crush." She said with a fake smile. "It's not a crush, you love him, don't you?" I predicted studying her closely. "Fine, you're right, I am sorry for falling for your beta but I can't just help it, I promise to get over him soon, please don't be mad at me." She pleaded and I laughed out loud. Why is she apologizing? Did I ever forbid her from falling in love, Zelda is just too funny! "I am not mind at you, the heart can't be controlled anyways," "He doesn't feel the same way, I am not in his league so he won't even spare me a glance, I would just try getting over him." She said playing with her fingers and I sighed. "I know it hurts but who knows, you might be made for each other, don't give up on him yet okay?" She pouted her lips and buried her head on my chest, I then encircled my arms around her. "It hurts though," she whined and I let out a light laugh. "I know, don't just think too much about it." I rubbed her back slowly and sighed. The door was suddenly pushed open and Harrison came into view, "The child has been found already," he announced and I stood up immediately. "Really? That's good news, hope he is in good health?" I asked and Harrison nodded positively. Actually, a woman in my kingdom came to me crying two days ago that her son went missing. I organized search troops and thankfully, he has been found. "I would be right back, Zelda." "Sure, I will look for something else to do," she muttered and I immediately left the room with Harrison.
