Chapter 49

Jolene's POV…

"It's not what you think, I…" I interrupted Harrison when he tried to make an explanation.

"Just hold it back, I don't need to listen to any of it. I am sorry for intruding on your privacy," I apologized and stormed out of his room.

My goodness, this is just unbelievable!

So Paulene was the lady he fell for? Why then did he lie to me when I asked him about it? Did he think I would have stopped him if I knew he fell for my sister? But why does it have to Paulene? He deserves better not that evil sister of mine with a lackadaisical attitude.

"Jolene! Jolene! It's not what you think, I can explain."

I suddenly heard Harrison's voice, I guess he was running after me, I increased my pace immediately.

Gosh! He should just stop making me feel embarrassed, what's my business if he kisses Paulene?

My own concern is that Paulene might not love him back and might just try to play and dumb him.

"What's your problem? Why are you running after her? Did she tell you to avoid me?" I suddenly heard Paulene scream out and I turned back.

She was already having a heated argument with Harrison, so I used that opportunity to go to my personal lobby.

I met Zelda sitting there with a glass of wine as usual, she was sitting with a huge smile on her face.

Poor girl, the guy she has feelings for is in love with another, why does it have to be Paulene!!

It would have been better if it was Zelda, they are both the perfect match.

"Hey, I have been waiting for you, were you able to convince your parents?" She asked as I took a seat beside her.

Before I left to see my parents, I already informed her.

"Yeah, though they tried to be stubborn at first but they finally agreed." I replied as I took a glass cup and she poured me some wine.

"That's nice, are you sure you are going to be okay visiting Sharp Edges pack?" She asked and I sighed.

"Yeah of course, the most surprising part is that my parents volunteered to go with me, I feel more confident going with them." I said and she clapped her hands in excitement.

"That's so sweet of them, I would have loved to go with you but it's better if you go with your parents."

"Yeah and once I leave, don't allow Paulene to bully you, always stay by Harrison's side all the time. He will protect you," I said with a smile and she sighed.

"I won't feel comfortable staying around him, you don't have to worry, I would be fine." She assured me with a bright smile and we clink glasses together.

The scene of Harrison and Paulene kissing popped up in my memory all of a sudden and my smile disappeared immediately.

If Zelda gets to know that Harrison is in love with Paulene, she would be so heartbroken.

"Zelda," I suddenly called and she looked at me immediately.

"What would you do if you find out that Harrison doesn't feel the same way for you?" I inquired and she smiled lightly.

"Nothing, I would try to get over him and move on, we can't force love on each other." She answered simply and I grinned.

She is such a simple and sweet soul.

"Yeah, just try and get over him, I don't think Harrison is…"

Someone suddenly barged in interrupting me in the process, I turned back and was surprised to see Harrison.

He was breathing heavily, what's up with him?

"Harrison? What's the problem?" I asked, expecting him to still be with Paulene.

"Jolene, it's not what…"

I interrupted him having known what he wanted to talk about, I don't want Zelda to know about it.

"Erm…Zelda, can you just go get the three of us hot coffee? Just make it by yourself," I demanded and she looked at me weirdly.

I knew there would be a lot of questions running through her head right now.

"Oh okay, I will do that right away." She muttered and rushed out immediately.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Why would they just barge in and scare me like that?" I yelled at him and he closed up the space between us.

"I know you must be so disappointed at me, I know you must be mad at me but I am sorry, I can explain."

Oh there he goes again! Why would I be mad if he kissed Paulene? I am only worried about him because I don't want him to get a heartbreak from that evil sister of mine.

I took Zelda's glass cup which was empty and poured him some wine, I then gave it to him to drink.

"Take this and calm your your nerves,"

He took it and muttered "thank you,"

"So why did you lie to me? You told me the girl you were in love with wasn9 Paulene, but how come I found her in your room, you both were even kissing?" I spat, feeling disgusted.

"Believe me, I never lied to you, I don't feel anything for her." He muttered and I chuckled.

I faced him and spoke up, " I am not mad because you fell for Paulene, I am just worried that you might have fallen for the wrong lady. You can move on with Paulene if she is the one your heart beats for." I said and he suddenly stood up.

"She isn't the one and would never be! It all started years ago when I and Paulene got drunk and we had our first s*x together,it was the biggest mistake of my life. Since then, she won't stop being so clingy and even got obsessed with me. She forces herself on me all the time and has seduced me a number of times but I turned her down but she won't just give up. She actually barged into my room and forced the kiss on me, I have nothing to do with her, believe me." Harrison explained and I took a deep sigh.

Wow! This is so interesting, so Paulene is into Harrison?

Was that why she traded my life just to get a taste of his d**k? She must really be head over heels for him, can't believe she still has a heart to love.

"Oh really, why didn't you tell me all these while?"

"I just don't want to bother you because it's just too stupid," he muttered and I chuckled.

"Whatever,"

"So am I forgiven?" He asked and I laughed lightly.

"I never told you I was angry, I was only disappointed that it was Paulene."

"Don't you feel somehow after you saw Paulene kiss me?"

What the heck does he mean?

"Of course not, I was just surprised." I replied and he gulped.

"Is there something you're not telling me?" I asked and he sighed.

"You told me a few days ago that I should confess to the lady I feel something for," he suddenly said and I nodded positively with a smile.

I wonder who the lady was,

"Isn't it high time you tell me who this lady is? I am so curious," I pouted and he smiled.

"You're the one," he suddenly said and I laughed out loud.

Must he joke all the time? What's the big deal if he tells me who the lady was?

"I am in love with you Alpha, I just can't help it but I love you so much Jolene." He confessed and my eyes widened immediately.

The serious expression on his face shows that he wasn't joking z oh my goodness!

"If this is a joke, stop it! It's just too expensive," I warned and he suddenly took my right hands and stared straight into my eyes.

"The first day my eyes fell on you, you captured my heart instantly. I got completely swayed by you and fell helplessly for you, you're my ideal woman. Our four years of being together made my love for you grow tremendously. I had tried to get over you a number of times but kept falling for you over and over again. I love your smiles, the way you talk, the way you handle and settle issues, the way you rule the Lycan kingdom with so much charisma and wisdom. I know this might sound crazy but I can't just help it, I love you insanely. I am losing my mind by trying to conceal my feelings for over four years, please allow me into your heart."

I was literally speechless and shocked, I felt so stupefied, this is unexpected!!

"Harrison, how.."

I got interrupted when I felt his lips on mine, my eyes bulged out immediately.

The glass of wine I was holding with my left hand slipped and crashed on the floor, the contents spilled and the glass shattered into pieces.
