Chapter Twelve: A Love Worth Fighting For
“No.”
The word came out before anyone expected it.
Everyone turned to Amina.
Her hands were shaking, but her eyes were steady.
“I’m not leaving without him,” she said.
Daniel stared at her in shock. “Amina, don’t—”
“I’m serious,” she continued. “I’ve already lost you once. I’m not doing it again.”
The room went quiet.
The man raised an eyebrow. “You’re either very brave… or very foolish.”
“Maybe both,” Amina replied.
Daniel stepped closer, lowering his voice. “This isn’t a game. If you stay, you could lose everything.”
“I already did,” she said softly. “The day you left.”
Her words hit him hard.
For a moment, the world around them disappeared again—just like before.
But this time, something was different.
Amina wasn’t the same girl he left behind.
She was stronger.
And she wasn’t running.
Daniel took a deep breath and turned back to the man.
“Then we both walk away,” he said firmly.
The man’s expression darkened. “That’s not one of your options.”
“Then make it one,” Daniel replied.
Tension filled the room instantly.
The guards shifted.
The air felt ready to explode.
Amina’s heart pounded, but she didn’t step back.
Not this time.
Not ever again.
Because this wasn’t just about love anymore.
It was about freedom.
About choosing their own lives.
About refusing to be controlled by fear.
The man studied them both for a long moment… then smiled slowly.
“A love like this…” he said quietly. “Rare.”
A pause.
Then his eyes turned cold again.
“But rare things break the hardest.”
He turned away slightly.
“Take them,” he ordered.
Amina’s grip on Daniel tightened.
As the guards moved closer, one truth became painfully clear—
Love had brought them back together.
But now…
It might be the very thing that destroys them.
