Carlos’s mouth sputtered blood, and he coughed as Raul grabbed his hair and stood him up and said, “This guy preyed on Gabby. How was she to know he had a wife in another country?” Raul’s cold eyes fell on the gathering crowd.
I saw a few put their heads down, and one took their cell phone out. This will solve nothing, though, “Raul,” I gently placed my hand on his arm.
Raul looked at me, then turned back to Carlos and said, “You’re not worth it. Apologize right now to Gabby,”
Carlos looked at me, and for a moment, I remembered the good times we had, but my Grandma always said; eventually, you see the true colors.
“Gabby, you know I love you,” Carlos said as he spits blood out on the ground. He then used the moment to pull away from Raul and tackle him to the ground.
“Stop it!”
