The Rising Of The True Warrior Queen

Chapter Three

Three days went by fairly quickly, and we made sure to pack most of our stuff in the SUV last night. It was just a few minutes before 9 AM, and it was a two-hour drive to East London. We said goodbye to our parents and got on the road. We were about an hour into the drive, and almost everyone was asleep. Everyone except Jasper. He was listening to music with his earphones.

"Louella, do you want to pull over and let me drive?" Dawn asked as she looked at me. It didn’t sound like a question, more like a demand. I knew better than to argue with Dawn about this because she wouldn’t take no for an answer. "That would be great; I am a little bit tired. Thank you." I said to Dawn as I kept my eyes on the road. The only reason Dawn wanted to take over was because she knew I only got about three hours of sleep last night. She slept next to me after we were done packing the SUV and thought of it justifying taking over. I pulled over at the side of the road and got out. Dawn got in the driver’s seat. We were back on the road in less than a minute.

"You can take a nap, Louella; I will wake you up when we are at the airport, I promise." Dawn said with her eyes on the road but side-ream, glanced at me. "You are full of great ideas today, aren’t you? But that sounds like an idea I am willing to support without argument. Thank you, Dawn, what will I do without you?" I said this while trying to make myself comfortable. "Hopefully we will never need to find out because I would be just as lost without you, girl." Dawn said with a giggle in her voice. It didn’t take me long to fall asleep. Within seconds after falling asleep, I started to have the same dream I have been having for the last six years. It always started with me in my wolf form next to what seemed like a lake, or maybe a pond. I didn’t know. But as always, a large black wolf ran towards me, with the most captivating bluish silver eyes that I have ever seen. Those same eyes made me want to submit to him. Even in my dream I could feel the power he has, and his aura showed me just how powerful he was.

I knew I had a powerful aura, but that was why I was glad that I am half-witch as well, like most of us in the pack. My mom was our coven leader when it came to the pack members, who showed that they were also in-touched by their witch magic. Dawn and I were lucky to have my mom show us more about how to use our magic. She taught us to dim our auras because everyone in the pack was quite powerful since we come from so many different fractions of the supernatural world. If I really wanted to, I could use my magic to appear human too. I also mastered how to dim my powers just enough so that no one would think I was a threat to them. This way, I could protect myself and my family. Just as the black wolf got closer to me, I woke up as I would normally do, not knowing why my dreams always ended this way.

I was also pretty stressed out because after my eighteenth birthday we heard of the prophecy about a female warrior who would unite everyone and bring peace to both the supernatural and human worlds. I knew the prophecy was about me because of my aunt Malina’s vision. My mother told me about the rogues who were slowly reappearing. For the last six months, my brother told me, they had about four rogues past the pack border. If they were apprehended, they would kill themselves before anyone could question them. I asked my dad about it too, but he kept playing it down. Some part of me knew that it was serious. If it was not serious, then why would my mom and the other witches put a barrier around the territory and safety spells around the pack house? My biggest worry was this nagging feeling that they were looking for me.

I knew that one day I would have to be someone who brought harmony to all the supernatural beings and humans. However, I heard everyone talk about the true queen appearing and defeating rogue King Sebastian Ballow once and for all. I had no idea why they thought I was a queen. I knew I was very powerful; sometimes I myself couldn’t believe the kind of power my body held. One thing I knew was that I was no queen. The only people who knew about my aunt’s vision were my parents, the people in this car, and, of course, Ally. Thanks to my many gifts, I could protect myself and everyone I held dear to my heart.

There was one gift that I had that made everyone afraid of me. All shifters only get one gift that is unique to them, and we called it our ‘special gift'. I also have one gift, which I could steal. I could steal any shifters or any supernatural creature’s special gift and make it mine. Being a witch also helped lessen the aura I gave off. It made me seem harmless to other supernatural creatures. So far, I knew I was the only one with a gift like this.

We arrived at the airport, and just Dawn and I went in to greet Ally. It didn’t take her long to spot us. She dropped her bag and grabbed us into one of her bear hugs. "I know I saw you guys less than a month ago, but damn, I miss the both of you and your big mouths." Ally said she was still holding both of us by the neck. "Ally, you need to let go. We can still suffocate to death, you know." Dawn said she was tapping Ally’s arm to will her to let us go. "I missed you too, Ally. It is so great to finally have you here. The holiday would not be the same without you, and I know my parents and Dawn’s parents are just as excited to have all three of us here for Christmas for once." I said that to Ally and hugged her again while Dawn nodded in agreement. "Come on; let’s go get coffee for everyone." Dawn said as she picked up Ally’s bag that she dropped on the floor when she dramatically hugged us.

"Wait one second, who is everyone? I know when we talked on the phone the otherday; you guys said we were making a trip to go dress shopping. So I thought that meant just us and Lia?" Ally said she was confused, and her brows knitted together. "Well, I guess you forgot to tell her, Dawn." I said this directed towards Dawn as she shrugged her shoulders. "Yeah, that was not going to happen. The boys, or should I say men, decided to accompany Lia because Dash refuses to leave her side, and you know what that means. “I said to Ally, shaking my head at Dawn for not telling her about the trip. “So, we are six people, and we are staying in one of Alpha Jason’s B&B’s for tonight and heading back tomorrow." Dawn explained this to Ally, who was also shaking her head at Dawn while laughing, and we all started laughing as we walked to the coffee shop to get coffee for everyone. As we were waiting for six cappuccinos. "So, you forgot to tell me the boys are coming with us, but you told me that Lia is pregnant. I should have probably known that your brother would tag along." Ally said with a giggle as she held her coffee.

Ally’s dad worked in the army, and all the governments in the world knew of the supernatural world, and a lot of us worked alongside humans to protect the people that couldn’t protect themselves. Ally’s dad was in the special division that worked with all the shifters in the army. The war with the rogue king had a big impact on all sides, even the human world. Most people knew we lived among them, but not all humans had the sight, which means some people like Ally’s father could see supernatural creatures without them having to reveal themselves. Not many humans had the sight. It was usually passed down through the bloodline, meaning Ally has the sight as well. We, as supernatural creatures, were also part of human civilization. So, we felt the need to protect them as much as our own people.

As we arrived at the SUV, everyone stood outside. Jasper talked on the phone, and Dash and Lia were in conversation when we walked up to them. "Why did you not wake us up, guys?" Lia said this with a frown on her face. "You guys looked so comfortable in each other’s arms, but we did bring all of you a cappuccino and a friend." I said with the cup holder in my hands and handed it out with three coffees in it, even though Dash has Lia limited to one cup of normal coffee a day because she is pregnant. Jasper ended the phone call, took the last cup of coffee in the holder, and looked over my shoulder at Ally, who stood behind Dawn and me. "So, now that everyone has got some caffeine in their hand, we all can give Ally a big welcome back." I said as I pulled Ally closer to me from behind Dawn. Within a second, Lia grabbed her into one of her famous bear hugs. Even with a baby bump, she still loved to do it. "Lia, let the poor woman breathe. She is a human, you know." Dawn said to her sister-in-law while she shook her head. Both the boys laughed because Dawn was being overly dramatic again. Lia took a step back. "Welcome back, Ally. I missed you so much. "I am so thrilled to have you." Lia spoke with excitement in her voice. "Hey Ally, it is great to have you back again. Feels like you never left." Dash said as he wrapped his arms around Ally. "Is everyone done hugging? Can I also greet Ally, or do you guys want to give her more hugs first?" Jasper asked and took a step towards Ally to give her a big hug. He kind of adopted Ally as another sister and loved her just as much as we all did, including our pack. It was like she was a part of our big and growing family. "It is great to be back; I missed all of you just as much." Ally said this genuinely before she backed out of Jasper's embrace. "Let’s get to the B&B, unpack, settle in, and relax a little bit, and then go dress shopping. What do you guys think?" Dawn said excitedly and looked at us, but it was more aimed at the women than the men. But the men did not complain at the thought of a comfy bed.

The men laughed at Dawn, who was being so dramatic, like always, about wanting the perfect dress for the ball. We got in the SUV and went to the B&B. Within 15 minutes, everyone had their own room except for Dash and Lia, who were obviously going to be sharing a room. All of our rooms were close to each other, and outside was a fire pit with a nice space with tables and chairs where you could just relax. After offloading the SUV, we all sat under the tree near the fire pit and laughed at how some of our crazy ideas got us in trouble. "So ladies, I thought we were going to go dress shopping." Ally asked, still laughing at one of the many stories Dash told of him and Jasper and where their bad ideas got them. "Yes, we do need to get a move on, girls. Are you two coming with or are you boys going to stay here?" Dawn asked the guys while she looked at us and nodded her head for them to move. "I think it would be wise to go and look for a new suit." Dash said with a frown on his face that he was not really looking forward to wearing a suit. "I think you are right, Dash. This ball has become a pain in my ass." Jasper said it with the same frown on his face. "Alright then, so let’s get a move on. There is still a lot we need to do." Dawn said this while getting up and then walked to her room to get her purse.
