There were moments when Jude would simply stop…
Look around his life…
And wonder how he had become this lucky.
Fifteen years.
Fifteen years with Adrian.
Fifteen years of learning each other.
Growing together.
Making mistakes.
Forgiving.
Laughing.
Loving.
And somehow…
Their little family had become his favourite place in the entire world.

His phone buzzed for what felt like the tenth time before noon.
Jude smiled before he even looked.
Lucas ❤️
Daddy, have you eaten?
Jude smiled.
Jude
Not yet. I’m about to.
Barely ten seconds later…
His phone rang.
He laughed before answering.
“Hello, sweetheart.”
“Daddy!”
Lucas sounded entirely too excited.
“I just finished my maths test.”
“How did it go?”
“I think I got everything right.”
“I knew you would.”
“And—”
Lucas
