After dropping Jude off at the hospital I headed back to the office I had a lot of things I needed to get done before picking Jude up from the hospital so later that night Sam told me Jude surgery will be done in the next twenty minutes so we left the office and went to the hospital to pick him up ……… we were in the car driving to his apartment he looked all tired and was sleepy and we didn’t talk when we reached his apartment he thanked me and got down from the car but he saw my door opened as well he looked at me but did not say anything we walked to the front door knowing fully well that I had a surprise for him The front door slammed shut so hard the walls trembled. Jude froze in the doorway Every box. Every photo. Every book he’d ever owned. Gone. His apartment—his safe place, the one thing that had been completely his stood almost empty. Only the curtains swayed gently in the open windows. His chest tightened. “What…” His voice cracked. “What happened?” A familiar voice filled the room before he even heard the footsteps. “I packed everything.” Adrain stood in the doorway, broad shoulders filling the frame, hands tucked into his coat pockets as though he hadn’t just uprooted someone else’s life. The omega stared at him in disbelief. “You what?” “I packed your things.” “You broke into my apartment?” “I used your code ” “How did you get my code?!” “From your Dad I call and told him you were my mate .” The omega let out a shaky laugh that sounded more like a sob. “No. No, this is insanity.” Adrain walked towards him, calm and unwavering. “We’re leaving.” “…Leaving?” “We’re moving.” Jude blinked several times, trying to process the words. “…Moving where?” “My house .” “What?” “My house.” The silence that followed was deafening. “You…” jude pointed at the mountain of boxes stacked neatly by the entrance. “You packed my entire apartment without asking me?” “I did.” “You decided to move me into your house without even telling me?” “Yes.” “You didn’t think I deserved a conversation?” “I made the decision.” Jude’s eyes glistened. “No… you made my decision.” Adrain jaw tightened. “They’re not the same thing.” “They’re exactly the same thing!” Judes’s breathing became uneven. “This is my home.” “It was.” “No!” he shouted, tears spilling freely now. “It is my home!” Adrain didn’t flinch. “You don’t belong here anymore.” The words hit harder than any slap. “What did you just say?” “You belong with me.” Jude stared at him, his heart breaking in slow motion. “So that’s it?” he whispered. “Everything I’ve built… everything I’ve worked for… it doesn’t matter because you’ve decided I belong somewhere else?” “It matters.” “It doesn’t feel like it!” Adrain took another step. “I won’t apologise for protecting what’s mine.” Jude recoiled. “I’m not something you own!” “You are my mate .” “I’m still a person!” “I know.” “No, you don’t.” His voice broke completely. “If you knew… if you really knew me… you’d know how much this place means to me.” He looked around the nearly empty apartment. “This is where I learned to stand on my own.” His hand shook as he touched the bare wall where pictures had once hung. “This is where I cried after passing my board exam .” Another tear slipped down his cheek. “This is where I celebrated getting my first job.” He swallowed painfully. “This apartment was my safe space .” The alpha’s expression softened ever so slightly. “And now I’m here.” “You don’t replace my memories.” “I’m not trying to.” “Then why take them away?” “I didn’t.” “You packed them into boxes!” “I packed the objects.” The alpha’s voice became quieter. “The memories go wherever you do.” Jude looked away. “You don’t understand.” “I understand enough.” “No.” His shoulders shook. “You don’t.” “I understand that unmated Alphas has been watching this building.” Jude frowned. “What?” “I understand there have been strangers asking about you.” “What are you talking about?” “I understand that three nights ago someone followed you home.” Jude face paled. “How do you know …” “I know.” “So why did you not tell me .” “You would’ve worried.” “I have the right to know!” “You have the right to be safe.” Jude stared at him. “So instead of telling me… you packed my entire life into boxes?” “I removed the danger.” “You removed my choice.” Silence settled between them. Adrain finally spoke. “I would do it again.” Jude closed his eyes. “I know.” “And I’d keep doing it.” “Oh I have a strong feeling you will .” “Even if you hated me.” Jude looked at him, tears streaming freely. “That’s exactly what scares me.” Adrain confident expression faltered for the first time. “You don’t trust me anymore.” “You are my mate ,” Jude whispered. The confession hung in the air. “But been mated to someone doesn’t mean surrendering every piece of yourself.” Adrain remained silent. “I wanted a partner,” Jude continued, voice trembling. “Not someone who decides my entire life without asking.” For several long moments, neither of them spoke. Finally, Adrain looked around the empty apartment before meeting Jude’s tear-filled eyes. “I thought I was giving you a home.” Jude shook his head. “You were taking one away.” The words lingered between them, heavy with hurt. For the first time since walking through that door, the Adrain seemed to realise that protecting someone and controlling them were not always the same thing. Jude looked at Adrain and said can you please take me to my father’s house he did not want to upset Jude so he did
