Chapter 10

After standing there for a long time together we decided to go inside.I asked Mrs Lawson to make us something to eat and opened the refridgerator, took out some orange juice and picked two glasses from the cabinet.We sat waiting for our foood  sipping juice.”When did you arrive”? I asked “Today a little after breakfast,I was already here last night for the Alpha ceremony but there were some rogue attacks that needed urgent attention so I had to return to my pack.Today morning after arranging everything I started for here again,when I arrived the summit had already begun, but I did not see you at lunch or evening tea”  ,“that’s because I had gone for a run,I had spilled the news to my and Brian’s family and there was so much that followed after that I needed fresh air and a run,infact I had just returned from the forest when I saw you in the dining room”.

Right then Mrs Lawson brought two plates of pasta along with some breads and a salad.I suddeny realized how hungry I was and probably my face clearly showed it as Liam started feeding me from my plate .”I want to know everything about you Sophie,my pack has been waiting for its Luna,they will be thrilled to have such a beautiful leader,you will receive all the respect and love that you deserve from them,they will always protect you” .

“As much as I am flattered Liam,I believe what a pack needs is a strong leader who can protect them and lead them when the time comes,what an Alpha needs is a partner to help him lead his pack and not someone who can become a distraction or weakness in crisis,and therefore,since the age of thirteen I have been training very hard and I am one the best upcoming warriors of my current pack, my mission is to safeguard as many people as I can all my life.This sums up almost everything about me”

Liam silently observed me and I must admit he looked a little taken aback “you mean you would want to fight for your pack ? don’t you think it is the pack that protects the Luna” he simply asked but I felt he was trying to make me speak more about my opinion rather than just drag a topic.

”Packs need to protect their Luna because if anything happens to her then the Alpha automatically loses strength and fall weak,this would mostly result in the defeat of the pack and killing of many innocent lives.Children lose their parents,some families get wiped out completely and so much more harm is caused.I think its time to bring in some change.

Instead of the Luna just being a symbol of leadership ,must be someone who can protect her pack from any intruders.She must be able to fight with the alpha there on the field and not just have some important warriors  occupied by guarding her room.I want my pack members to be able to depend on me,to trust me ,I don’t want their respect only because of a title, I want to earn it myself Liam”.

There was a long pause and Liam quietly kept feeding me taking few bites himself,he was thinking but it was impossible for me to read his face.Another trait of a good Alpha. “Would you like your dessert to be served now” Mrs Lawson asked softly with a smile “Yes please” I replied “let me guess,have you made my favourite blueberry cheesecake?” I asked excitedly “Well,I have ,anything for you darling” she replied with a warm smile as always “and a little surprise too”she quietly winked,I got even more excited and then saw her approaching our table with a dessert tray with blueberry cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake with some icecream.This was enough for me to forget all the stuff that happened all day,well all except finding my mate offcourse.”Thank you,you are the best” I jumped at her and gave her a tight hug.

All this time Liam was observing us with an amused expression on his face ,when I began to devour the tray full of delight in front of me,he softly asked “You look close to her ,is that how everybody here greets their omegas?” I stopped right before putting the spoonfull of icecream in  my mouth “does it bother you” I asked “no,not at all its just something I havent really seen anywhere before “ he replied

“you are in for many surprises then,our pack is a loving place,everyone here is respected for their work irrespective of their ranks,I believe its because of the hard work and back support of the omegas that the high ranked wolves can do so much,don’t you think so ? “ “interesting” was all he muttered

I started to dig in again and after I was completely satiated,I stretched a little and gave out a small yawn,liam chuckled “its cute to see someone as smart as you look such a baby at the end of the day” “what can I say,looks are deceptive”I winked and smiled at him.

I think we should go to our rooms and sleep,its been a long day and then I saw his expression change to shock “are you trying to say that we will be staying in different rooms princess?” he asked “well offcourse I mean ..dont you think so too?” I replied “offcourse not ,we are mates,and two rooms will definitely not be tolerated” “ohhkk so what do you sugggest?” “we can go to your room if that makes you feel more comfortable,anything that suits you little mate” he grinned .I think I must have looked a little embarassed thinking that I will have to guide him to my room but Liam looked perfectly composed.As we walked in my room he took a look at all corners and then suddenly pulled me to his chest “your scent is so intoxicating,it brings a serene calm to me “ I pulled back “is that why my wolf had been so restless since yesterday,she said she could sense you at the ceremony and again today after I returned from the run,she went frantic but your scent makes her truly happy Liam” I said and he gave me a beautiful smile.

“Sophie the mating and marking ceremony will have to wait for a while,I wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable,you have been through a lot and I have my own issues but we are mates who were made for each toher,we will stay together all the time,I think its important for both of us”, he said

“I will freshen up and come,you are free to tour my room in the meantime,” I smiled and walked to the bathroom.My wolf was thrilled she was as happy as one could be”I told you gorgeous that our mate is here,he likes us,he wants to be with us,I have connected with his wolf,he too cannot contain his happiness on finding us” she told me.I smiled at myself and took a quick shower and washed up,then brushed my teeth and applied lotion all over my body and then it hit me,I had no clothes ,all my clothes were in the cupboard which was in my room and as I was not used to carrying them in the bathroom I simply forgot to take them in.

This was gonna be awkward,I wrapped the biggest towel around me there was in my bathroom and opened the door slightly to see where Liam was,he was checking his phone messages and looked at me right then,”all good princess?” he asked “Liam I need to come out for a second,have to takle clothes from the cupboard,” I muttere, he chuckled “are you waiting for me to carry you out then” this made me blush “no no only if you could look the other side for a while “ I squeaked and saw him getting up and approaching me “Sophie,its ok,I told you I will take it slow and wouldn’t do anything that made you uncomfortable,pl walk without hesitation and take your clothes “ he said

I ran out with my wolf speed and took out my cotton nightsuit and rushed back in the bathroom again,I then changed quickly,blow dried my hair and came out.I saw Liam had changed into comfortable clothing too and he seemed to be thinking hard “all ok”I asked “do you too wana take a shower maybe” “that wont be required princess,I went to freshen up in my room while you took your time inside’ he joked

I rolled my eyes at him and moved towards my side of the bed,Liam removed the pillow in between us and came close to me,I again felt tiny tingles all over my body the moment he touched me,I wanted to wrap myself around him and not let go that time.I think my heart was beating so fast,he could practically hear it.”Liam,who all are there in your family” I asked “I only have a younger sister Sophie and she is the light of our pack,she keeps everyone happy,she turned eighteen last year but still hasn’t found her mate,she will be thrilled to meet you and to some extent I even pity you for you will be tortured by her shopping and gossip sessions ,she has been waiting too long to meet you” hmm was all I muttered then spoke after a pause “Brian’s sister Ella is my best friend,we never thought we would live far away from each other,I will miss her but I am glad I will have company in my new pack “ I saif softly

“Are you not happy about moving with me”he asked suddenly “I am very happy Liam,like right now also I just feel so peaceful that I don’t want to be away from you for a moment even,but this is my home,I was born here,Ella and I are like sisters and my parents have been my biggest support all through,its gona hurt saying goodbye to them” we both remained like that for a few moments and I asked again “how far is your pack from here” “about four hours by car” he replied “but don’t worry you can keep visiting your parents and all your people are welcome to visit us anytime “

“thanks” I whispered before turning to face him and for a moment our faces came too close,all I could see were his eyes and perfectly carved lips,and then I wanted to taste them,as if in a daze I think we started to move our lips closer until they brushed over each other when I quickly spoke”goodnight” Liam laughed and said “well that was close” and then kissed my forehead and pulled me into his chest,I don’t rememebr when I slipped into a deep slumber and when I woke up it was morning already and the most handsome man ever born was sleeping with his arms wrapped around me.

I touched his closed eyes and wanted to dig my hands in his hair,I could keep looking at him forever and suddenly he smiled and muttered “its rude staring at a sleeping person you know” and with a jolt came on top of me and took in my scent from the crook of my neck.we remained like that for sometime when someone knocked the door”I will get it “ I said trying to free myself but he was holding me too tight “not yet princess,you are driving me mad with your scent,I need to remain close to you for some more time,we have a lot to discuss and plan at the meeting today” I remained still not knwoing what else to do.The knock was back again,a little louder than before “what” snapped Liam,it was his Beta on the other side of the door “Alpha we need to get ready soon,we cannot afford to miss the start of the meeting again today and Alpha Ronald is joining us too,so we need to discuss few matters beforehand “ he said  “alright,I will be out in a minute “ Liam replied and got up from above me after kissing my forehead.

”Alpha Ronald,is he the father of that p*****t Damien” I asked without thinking ,Liam stopped and turned around “yes very much,you know damien?” he asked looking surprised “well it’s just a little something,Ella and I had an encounter with him few days back,he seemed too interested in doing well lets say he had set his eyes on someone but he and his men were thrown across and smashed by Brian, before leaving he warned Brian that they wont let go this matter easily”I shrugged “Hmm don’t worry,I am there to deal with everything that father and son duo want to discuss” and left the room saying “see you at the breakfast tabel shortly “.

I smiled and fell back on my bed again,I felt so happy and couldn’t take the smile off my face when I remembered I had to join Liam for breakfast,with this though I quickly got up and started gettting ready.
