“Breakfast.” My new owner bent over my naked body, holding a tray. “Coffee, bacon and eggs, toast and jam. Sorry, there’s no morning paper, this is Ancient Greece, and newspapers haven’t been invented yet.”
“Did they eat this kind of food for breakfast?”
His handsome face creased into a smile and he laughed. “No. We cheat a little when it comes to meals.” His voice was soft, with just a hint of German accent.
