Revelations

Jamar Seeing Amber with Terrance almost made Gideon come to surface. He was so angry with me. I was angry with me. How did we let things get so out of hand? I thought. WE? I told you she was our mate and to keep her close! Not only did you allow some childish imbecile of a female wolf to put her hands on Amber, but you let yourself be seduced in front of her! Not we. I had nothing to do with this mess you made. Gideon angrily thought back as he retreated in my mind. Great. Now I’m completely on my own. It was 11:45 and most of us had school the next day so the crowd had begun to subside. I was still hanging out since Ali refused to leave my side. Sayed and Simone suggested we had back to Simone’s to crash. I knew my mom wouldn’t mind because she loved Simone’s mom and trusted her. My mood had soured after seeing someone interact so closely with my Angel. My angel? I didn’t even recognize my own thoughts anymore. The next day Aliana and I were walking to 6th period together. My mom really wasn’t playing with me about my grades so I had signed up for all AP courses. Ali of course had been taking advanced courses all of high school. We walked in and I was surprised to see Sayed. I didn’t know he was a nerd too. What surprised me even more was to see who he was talking to. Amber? I felt Ali tense up beside me and I offered my hand to reassure her. I wouldn’t disrespect her in Amber’s presence, but this was going to be a long class period. “What’s up Sayed? I didn’t know you were in AP courses!” I said as we walked further into class. He turned around and seemed shocked to see me as well. “Yeah man. Your mom convinced my mom to make me take harder classes too so thanks for that.” He grimaced as everyone in class laughed. I noticed that Amber barely even cracked a smile at my joke. She wasn’t into me anymore. “Alright everyone welcome to AP Biology, find a seat so I can take attendance and then I will hand out the syllabus.” A loud voice boomed. It was Mr. Landry, our football coach. Everyone thought he’d take an easy assignment and teach history since that’s what most of our coaches did, but I guess not. Aliana sat in the desk in front of me as I took my seat while Mr. Landry took attendance. “Terrance? Terrance Smith?” Great. He was in this class too?” I inwardly groaned. As his name was being called, he walked in with a tardy pass. “Sorry Mr. L, I was taking a quiz with Mrs. Henson.” he said sheepishly. The only seat left in class was to my right and Amber was 3 rows over. I watched as they eyed each other and shared a secret smile. This is your fault. Gideon. What more am I supposed to do? MORE! She’s OURS! Gideon was beside himself with jealousy. Is this how Amber felt seeing me with Aliana at the diner last night? I felt like my mind was about to explode. So many thoughts were running through my mind that I missed Mr. Landry handing out the syllabus and assigning partners for our very first project. Really? A project? Dude we’re only on the 2nd day of school. “Mr. Landry I know that you assigned Amber and JD to work together, but he’s my mate. I think we’d work better together because I know how to encourage him.” WHAT? I had the chance to work with Amber and Aliana was blatantly interfering. The whole class was silent. We had not announced we were mates, much less even a couple. Sayed was looking at me like I had grown 3 heads. “Well I am usually not a fan of couples working together, but since y’all are mates, I can make an exception this one time. Congratulations!” Mr. Landry stated. “Miss. Henry since Aliana and Jamar will now be working together, I am going to have you take Aliana’s old partner Ariel. Is that okay?” He asked. “Sure! I think it will be better this way too.” Amber replied. She didn’t want to work with me? Enough was enough. I stood up and everyone watched with surprise. “Mr. Landry I have a banging headache. Can I go splash some water on my face and grab a cool drink?” I asked. “Of course! I’ll have Ali take your notes while you’re gone.” I mumbled a thank you and got out of that class as fast as possible. I needed some air or Gideon was going to surface and tear up everything around us. I heard my phone vibrate and sighed as I took it out of my pocket. *Sayed the Man* Yo! Wtf man? I thought we told each other everything! *me* What are you talking about? We do. *Sayed the Man* Apparently not bro. When did you and Aliana find out y’all were mates? *me* We’re not. She said that because she didn’t want Amber and I to work together. *Sayed the Man* Bro what are you going to do with that chick? She’s getting out of hand. Lil Bit and I are friends.. don’t want that to come in between our friendship and your relationship. *me* Lil Bit? *Sayed the Man* Bro. Did you read anything I just said besides Amber’s nickname? I closed out of the text with Sayed before I disrespected my brother. He was my closest friend and I should’ve known he’d form a relationship with her. My phone buzzed again and I instantly felt annoyed. *Aliana* Where r u? *me* Why? *Aliana* Mr. Landry asked me to check on you. Since we’re mates and everything.. (; *Me* Why would you tell an outrageous lie like that? We don’t even know for sure yet. *Aliana* I know in my heart that you’re my mate. Even if we’re not fated mates, I would reject that mate and still choose you. *me* Aliana don’t do that. It wouldn’t end well for you or him. *Aliana* Well good thing I will never have to. Right? I couldn’t believe Ali. Why would she lie like that? Then to gloat? Something was seriously wrong here. I needed to make things right with Amber and fast.
