Amidst cheers, Edward and Hannah made their way to an enclosure set up in one corner of the backyard. From a distance, it looked like a large decorative crate but when they each took hold of a dangling ribbon and pulled, the lightweight panels that formed the enclosure folded outward to reveal a sleek car draped in — God help me — a pink and blue car cover. The cheers got even louder.
Just from the outline of the car, I already knew which it was. A Ferrari Portofino.
My brother received the microphone from the MC and made a heartfelt speech thanking Hannah for her sacrifice and announcing that the car was a gift for her, resulting in a round of applause. Hannah did what could best be described as a waddle to her husband and they shared some hugs and kisses.
