Chapter 14: Amazed
If you have ever felt stupid, trust me, you had never felt as stupid as I felt when I was having a conversation in the car with my big brother Kamal. He looked flashy as always, iced out chains, expensive clothing, iced out Cuban links and pretty much everything expensive you could ever imagine. I stopped him before he said anything to me in the car, I asked him why he always dressed so flashy, he looked at me dumbfounded but we left it at that, he looked at me and said to me “you don’t know? You really don’t know?”. I looked at him dumbfounded and told him I had no idea. He told me to listen to him carefully, he would give me an explanation and afterwards, he would tell me why. I shrugged and told him that was fine. He began his explanation to me and the elite squad of the league of light finally made sense to me, I had no idea about them because they were not supposed to exist, they were a ghost or should I say secret but fully functional unit of the league of light. The reason their agents were unknown was rather simple, they were not known as agents but entertainers and they use that guise in their operations, they were really popular, think about the best entertainers, the best footballers, the best singers, the best writers, the best in any entertainment profession you could think of, yeah, those were the members of the elite squad of the league of light. The elite squad was only a non-existent faction of the league of light that was a myth but also a fact, it was after all composed of the best fighters in the league of light. Kamal’s case was rather simple but he had the joy of making a fool of me, he asked me if I knew the singer Kamal.D? I was like yeah, I know him, he is so cool, he has such good lyrics, perfect flows, he has no flaws and he has no bad songs, he is the exact idea of the meaning of perfection, check the dictionary for music and you would see his name as the one and only definition, just kidding though, the last one was an exaggeration, anyways, Kamal had a surprise in store for me. He simply looked at me as I ranted on and on, he looked at me with a lot more intensity and said to me, “You are sitting next to him little brother”. My heart skipped a beat, what? My big brother Kamal was Kamal.D, if you actually looked at both of them, they do look a little alike but that is all there seemed to be to it, I was having a lot of issues believing Kamal but as I searched the internet for pictures of Kamal.D, I was only seeing Kamal’s pictures, I looked at him in defeat and he simply told me, you should probably believe me now, flashing his trademark smile and looking handsome as always.
He then begun his completely unnecessary lecture, he told me about his journey from childhood to the league of light, a story so sad and tragic, I really regretted hearing what he had to say, you could not help but feel for him. Would you believe that after my dad killed Kamal’s mom, he was allowed to stay in the league of light and was even made a teacher in the academy, Kamal always failed his subject, something that shocked everyone considering how smart Kamal was, he had straight A’s in other courses but an F was sure in that of his father and the league let his father do as he pleased, even though he had reported what he had seen his father do to his mother, they got him no justice, only protection, which you could say was the bare minimum, eventually, he graduated and was promoted to the league of light, he shone like the sun when he joined the league and was put in the team Alpha of that generation, tragedy struck afterwards, his or should I say our dad was made the leader of the alpha team and he always told Kamal to sit out missions, even missions where Kamal would be needed more than anything. Kamal endured it for a year and afterwards, he learned that his dad had created a band of rebels from the league of light, a faction called the death squad, he was told to chase and annihilate the members of the death squad but the worst was yet to come, Kamal went after our father and when he eventually caught up to him, Kamal left with his team but he was the only one who returned, he did not return in a good condition either, he was almost dead. He was eventually revived and he begged the league for another chance, he got a lot more than that, they gave him power, immense power but his dad was not going to wait for him to get stronger, his father also took power from those who had it, along with their life. The day of their last matchup, I must have been about fourteen then, Kamal nearly killed our dad, he beat him to the verge of death and handed him over to the league but to his dismay, he was told his dad had escaped and was nowhere to be found. I was somewhat disappointed, I had been dreaming of defeating my dad when the real person he wanted to fight was Kamal, I was not in his list of person’s to fear, I was nothing but fodder, Kamal was the real deal, he probably had no interest in fighting me, that worked in my favour, I could train with Kamal and kill him with the element of surprise, not that it would be anything related to easy though. Kamal must have noticed I did not feel too happy, he told me to just move on, he told me the main reason he wanted to train me was so that we could destroy our dad, he wanted what my dad created be what would eventually lead to his end, and the end was coming for him, soon enough. I enjoyed everything about his lecture today, although it was depressing, it was ultimately educative and inspiring. We arrived at our destination soon enough and trust me, I was AMAZED…………………..
