Didi was horrified. Her mouth opened and her face looked ready to cry. Her Aunt Tillie had burst into the house carrying her presents yelling, “Where"s the birthday girl?” Aunt Tillie"s one hand held a child-size straw broom, a package wrapped in black, and her other hand held a carrier with a black kitten inside. “These match Didi"s present perfectly.” Tears slipped down Didi"s cheeks. This was her seventh birthday and she had wanted a Princess outfit to wear while Trick or Treating. Her mother had brushed off her pleas for the beautiful pink gown with the golden crown by saying, “Oh, your Aunt Tillie will be supplying your costume this year.” Didi didn"t have to open the black, wrapped present.
