Chapter 7

Meadow

The bell rang and all the students rushed out at once while I packed up my books and waited for them to empty out.Then I strolled out heading to my locker to take my phone and drop my books. I looked around the hallway for some long black hair I didn’t see so I looked back down. I’m so grateful now that the bullying at school is going to stop at least I can concentrate on the months I have left.I haven’t even seen her in two weeks she really has stopped. I got to my locker dropping my books I took my phone and shut it then headed home.

I plugged in my earphones and played moonlight by juice wrld one of my favorites songs.the yellow Lexus sped pass me which means she was in school,she really is tired of me.what did I just say tired of me? Like I’m the one bothering her. What has gotten into me well enough thinking about her. I started singing the songs as I walked home.

“Good day Amber” no response I don’t care, I marched to the fridge to drink some water before heading upstairs to change and get to the work part.

Eloise

I pulled into the compound parking and getting my stuffs and retrieving the car key,then I got down making sure Stef was out too before locking the car.

“Hey my babies welcome” she screamed opening the door right before I insert the key.

“How are you not at work woman it’s not weekend?” I said smiling before Stefan pushed passed me to his mom.gosh it’s been so long since we got home to see mom at home with already made late lunch. I got in locking the door and removing my shoes to wear my slippers.

“Mom stop gushing over Stefan and tell me how you’re home this evening?” I said walking to them now on the couch.

“I took a break to see my babies get home from school, can’t I do that ?” She said smiling at Stefan like she’s talking to him not me.

“Okay then,what did you make mom?” I asked her while yawning I’m really hungry.

“Let’s go to the kitchen and see babies then you can go freshen up” she said more at me because she and Stefan was already walking to the kitchen. I rushed after them to see mom dishing the rice, one of my favorites so I’m just going to rush upstairs to change and wash my hand then come eat.

“Mom this looks really nice” I praised as I looked at the soup she made,everything just looks attractive.

“Yes baby so you guys go freshen up while I serve the food okay”

“ okay mommy” Stefan replied and ran up stairs

“Stefan no running on the stairs” she shouted behind him

“Okay mommy” he shouted back from upstairs.

“Mom is everything okay at work ?” I said looking at her to read her facial expressions

She looked back at me “ yes baby, there’s no need to bother I just took a break by tomorrow evening I’ll be back at work” smiling at me she went back to setting plates

“I believe you mom, I just want to know you know we’re all we’ve got so I gotta look out for you too” she dropped the cutleries and walked to me touching my face and bending my head to kiss it.

“Yes baby I know and I appreciate you cause you’re the best daughter anybody can ask for but there’s no problem okay so go shower and come eat baby.okay ?” I nodded and walked to the sitting room to get my bag and shoes then ran upstairs.

After lunch I did the dishes then went back to my bed calling Cathy as soon as I got in .she didn’t pick so I texted her.

*** hey b***h don’t forget to remind me about the English homework later tonight. With that I tossed my phone hoping to fall straight asleep but my brain had other plans. I turned as I pictured her face she looked so pretty today at school, she wears more of hoodie but I still manage to find her attractive.I don’t care what she wears,I bet she’ll look prettier naked.I smiled at the thought I know for real she’ll never let me see her naked.I sighed and turned again, I can’t wait to leave this depressing place. But what if I can’t move on even after I leave this place what will I do. This scares me everyday what if running won’t stop this stupid feeling. I have hope that college will stop the feeling, once I get to college I’ll hook up with so many girls that I’ll forget her name. That’s exactly what I’m going to do,just hold on for six more months.my phone dinged and I reached for it.

Cathy***okay b***h I’ll call by 7.I tossed the phone again trying to sleep again and this time it worked..

Meadow

I finished with my chores and went to make dinner quickly so I can have time to rest well. In the kitchen I met Amber cooking,she could have told me she was going to make dinner not like it bothers me but I wouldn’t have hurried anyway I’m grateful both ways now I have enough time to rest. I turned to walk back to my room bumping into Vanessa. I didn’t even turn to spare her a glance and I ran upstairs shutting and locking my room door.

I threw off my clothes and ran into my bathroom to freshen up and get ready for dinner. I showered,washed my hair and dried off my body. Applying my body lotion and hair cream then some body spray then threw myself on my bed sleeping off at once before I realized it.

I jolted up and it was totally dark, what hope is not too late gosh I felt so hungry and thirsty.I reached around for my phone I found it checking the time it was just 7:50 pm then I switched the torch on, and I started walking downstairs. I heard the tv from the stairs which means Amber was there so I followed the other kitchen door. Turning on the switch and rushing to the fridge, after drinking a bottle of water in one go I shut the fridge to look for food.

I looked around and it was as if the kitchen hasn’t been used today, was I dreaming when I saw her cooking ?. I checked the microwave and still nothing so I marched to the living room.

“Amber,I saw you making dinner earlier sorry I slept off where’s mine ? “ I said all in one go

“Ooh sorry my dear Meadow but dinner is finished” she said barely sparing me a glance.

“So should I sleep hungry because there’s no cereal” I asked back because I rarely eat dinners these days and is getting frustrating how they eat everything like they are the only ones at home.

“Do whatever you want my dear I don’t care because if you wanted dinner you’d leave your door unlocked or be awake at least. You should be grateful I even included your portion” her eyes where still fixed on the tv. I left her there to figure something out in the kitchen before drunk dad gets back.
