Ambers POV
It has been about two weeks since and things are going very well. Salman is learning a lot in the sign language classes he is taking and the ones I have attended I even learned a few more words as well. He loves practicing with me every chance he gets, but he still has a lot to learn. I hang out with him about three times a week and he hasn’t pressured me once into making a decision.
“I’m really enjoying our time together, Amber, maybe we could take other classes together as well once we finish with this one”, Salman says to me while smiling. I smiled at him a nod, as it sounded like a good idea. I definitely am feeling a tiny bit more comfortable around him. We said good bye and I walked home. When I get inside, I start making dinner as the older three have started to be able to eat more solid food, and I love cooking for them. They will eat anything I give them, even vegetables which I find a little funny and surprising. Then again, all I had to eat when I was pregnant with them was fruits and vegetables and a little bit of meat, mainly to keep my wolf at bay. If we don’t eat meat for too long, our wolves will try to take over to go and find some kind of meat and Teival couldn’t have that now could he or else it would have exposed him to the whole pack. I do sometimes wonder what would’ve happened if his pack found out what he had been doing if they had reported him to the elders. Then again, he would’ve done everything he could to weasel his way out of it. Why was Teival so awful? I know I never did anything to him, but what happened?
Once the kids were done eating, I played a little more with them, read them a book and put them to bed. Once I have the kids put to bed, I go to my room and decide to write in my journal my therapist suggested I have. I wrote about everything that has happened so far. I probably wrote for a few hours before I was done and went to bed.
I woke up and got ready for the day. I got the kids ready and then left to meet up with Salman. When I saw him, he had what looked like a box in his hands. I walked up to him and waved. He smiled at me and handed me the box. I looked at him confused, as I couldn’t think of why he would give me anything.
“ It's a gift for you Amber. I saw it yesterday and it reminded me of you, so I bought it to give you” he said. I opened the gift and it was a cute little elephant. I smiled at him and hugged it, which caused him to smile back.
“I knew you’d like it” he said. The rest of the day we walked and talked about whatever we could think of. I think I can trust him a bit as he has been very respectful of my boundaries and has never once crossed them. I decided to tell him about my children. Not a whole lot, just how many I have, their names, and ages.
“Wow, that’s a lot of kids, and especially for someone as young as you. You seem like an amazing mother. Even though you aren’t verbally saying anything, I can tell based on your facial expressions, you love your children a lot” he said. I smiled when he said that.
You know, I think we should give him a try.
Why do you say that Ivory?
He seems so nice and has been incredibly patient with us.
That is true.
We could also ask Willow to look in to him to see if he is hiding anything.
But that feels kinda creepy
I feel like she’d do it anyway, as she is a bit protective of us.
That is true. OK, I guess I’ll talk to Willow later today about it.
Me and Salman walked and talked another thirty minutes before letting me know he had to go. He said he had to talk with his Alpha about extending his stay. Eventually, he will have to make a decision about whether or not to move to my pack and I’m still not too sure how I feel about him living here, but I also know I don’t want to leave my pack. I have a lot I need to think about before I consider going to the next step with him. I mean I will admit I feel rather safe and kinda comfortable around him, which is a first in a rather long time with men. Perhaps I should talk to Willow and see what she thinks.
I look at my phone and see that it's almost dinner time, so she’s probably busy. I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to talk with her about all of this. I headed back home and started to make dinner for my kids. I decided to make spaghetti since it’s super easy and quick to make, plus the kids love it. I get what I need together and make my own pasta sauce for it since the kids like it better than store-bought pasta sauce. I drained the pasta and then combined it with the sauce. It wasn’t a whole lot, considering the kids don’t eat much as they’re so little. I grab the kids and put them into their respective high chairs before giving each of them a plate of pasta. While they ate, I breast-fed the younger three. I’m so glad I can produce so much milk as they suck me dry every time I feed them. Once done with breastfeeding them, I burped them and put them to bed. The older four I got cleaned up and read them all a bedtime story before putting them to sleep. After all the kids got to bed, I finally sat down and ate my dinner. It was cold but it still tasted good.
