Chapter Three

780 Words
Willows POV I helped Amber get settled in with her triplets and then send some nannies to help her as she has been put on bed rest for a week.  I head back to the pack house and go to my office as I have a lot of work to get caught up on.  As much as I love spending time with Amber I still have my duties as the Luna of this pack and the leader of the underground.   When I get to my office I see a large stack of papers on my desk.  I get to work on them looking over what needs to be done.  There were so many requests from wolves that needed help to escape their abusive mates.  I couldn’t believe how many there were, and the worst thing was I had limited resources.  Until I can get more funding I am only able to do three rescues a week, which isn’t nearly enough to get through this large stack of requests.  I began to sort them between those with and without children, then between those who both they and their children were being abused.  That pile was the pile I would work on first which thankfully wasn’t as huge as the others.  I also looked to see how much room we have at the facility which unfortunately wasn’t a whole lot.   I sat there and began brainstorming on how I could get more funding.  It costs about five hundred dollars a rescue, and of course fifty dollars per child.  I noticed we had quite a few wolves who had been staying at the facility a while so I decided I would start asking them to do some work so we could increase our income.   I called a meeting with Amelia so I could discuss my idea with her about getting more money.  When she came in I motioned for her to sit and told her what I wanted to do. “Hmm I mean it could work, but how would you get them to willingly work?” Amelia asked me.   “We will pay them a bit of money per item sold so that way they aren’t working for free.  Of course it will be voluntary but I feel a lot of them will be more than happy to help seeing as the money they’ll earn will be theirs to do as they wish and many of them have never had that before” I tell Amelia.  She nods in agreement.  We then go back and forth on how we’ll split the money earned from every item.  In the end we agreed 40% goes to the person who made the item, 40% goes to the facility, and 20% goes to keeping the store front open.  Once all was agreed upon I began working on getting a*****e front, but decided we would do it online instead as it would keep these wolves safe from seeing their abusers.   When it came time for my weekly visit to the facility I had everything set up and ready to go.  I first went to the office to drop off my plans for three different rescues this week.  Afterwards I went and met with the new rescues to talk with them and help them heal.  Of course I can’t heal them a hundred percent right away but after a few sessions they are ready to go.  Finally I went and called a meeting with everyone. “Everyone, I have something I need to talk about with you all.  The facility is extremely limited on funds and is only able to do three rescues a week, not to mention we have very limited capacity in the facility as well.  So to combat this I am going to have a few options available here for everyone.  You don’t have to choose a job, but those who do will earn a bit of money for every item of theirs sold” I said.  Everyone seemed to be in agreement about all of this.  Once all was said and done I made my way back to my pack to do my Luna duties. Over the next week or so we had many items that were made by the residents of the facility and we were able to make a bit of money.  The three rescues I planned were also successful so this made me feel like I was competent at my work.  I even found we had enough to do four rescues now thanks to the additional funds we received.  Eventually we will need to hire more people to be part of the underground and maybe eventually it won’t be needed.
