Chapter 13 (Adrian’s POV) The first sip of my coffee nearly sent me over the edge. What the hell is this? I pulled the cup away, staring at it as if it had personally offended me. The bitterness hit first, then the overwhelming punch of sugar, and worst of all, it was lukewarm. I set it down.... hard. My jaw tightened as a slow irritation spread through me. This was not how I started my mornings. My coffee was always perfect.... hot, strong, and made exactly how I liked it. Ivy always got it right. I pushed the thought away and hit the intercom.
