Chapter 28: How Could Paolo Have It?
“How long have you been there?” Bella asks.
“I just came down when I heard you yelling at my assistant,” Paolo said.
Bella turned to look at Mr. Mark for help. The assistant peeked his head around Bella, who was very small, and looked at his boss.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Paolo. The thing is, your wife wants me to be here at nine in the morning tomorrow because she wants to sleep a little more, but I was telling her that you asked me to arrive for the lady very early at eight.”
Paolo knows the explanation doesn't relate to his wife's shouting, but he accepts it as reasonably coherent. He raises an eyebrow and approaches Bella to speak very close to her ear.
