AVALON Was it a bad idea to follow my dad to the underground unsupervised and without protection? Yes. One hundred times yes. Would I do it all over again? No. That would be a no. My face had this passive look that mirrored the ones I always saw on my dad’s face whenever he tried to hide his emotions. He stared me down through the bars of the cage, trying to get a crack out of me but there was none. I wanted to give off the vibe that I knew he was going to do this, and it didn’t bother me. When it really did. He’d shoved me into a shark cage, and hoisted me up so it dangled next to the large terrace peering over the sand filled ground. I should have known this was going to happen when he led me out into the arena in the first place. So yeah, I may have made a bad call on this one.
