Avalon had my heart spinning I’m circles. For the fraction of a second that I saw her with her eyes closed, hair floating in the water, I had thought the worst. I’d gotten the scare of a lifetime wondering whether or not she was still alive. Though I hadn’t given myself the time to think.
I dove in immediately, I had to know of she was okay. Or try to save her.
Seeing her cough and spit out water was a relief, and a reminder that I can lose her to anything, at any moment.
