Chapter 3

I was not expecting to have such a huge room, but I did. A huge bed, a large vanity, a walk in closet filled will clothes and a bathroom with a huge tub that only I was to use. According to King Ty, I was not allowed to call him anything but Dad. Jacin's room was next to mine, He told me that if I were to ever need him for anything, at any time, that I could just walk into his room and ask. I don't think I would ever be able to get used to this. I had yet to meet Jacin's mother, but every time I try to ask, he would change the subject. I found that odd. King Ty had handed me my old phone and a brand new one that was already connected and had two number programmed in. One under Daddy, which I assumed was King Ty's number and the other under Jacin. I spent that afternoon transferring all my songs over to my new phone. I had forgotten just how many songs I had. It took over two hours to complete. I kept testing my voice to see if it would work again, I missed singing, but it didn't work. Just harsh whispers and squeaks. I let out a sigh and headed to the bathroom. There was cherry blossom scented shampoo and conditioner and, what I think, was lavender soap. I ran the water until it was nice and warm. I removed the shirt Jacin gave me and folded it on the counter. After stepping into the tub, I let the water wash away everything. Jacin told me that I was safe now, but I still felt like they were going to turn on me. I would have to keep my guard up at all times until I truly felt safe.  I washed quickly and got out of the shower. I checked all around for a towel, but I couldn't find one. I let out a sigh and just walked out of the bathroom, holding Jacin's shirt. I didn't notice that someone had entered my room until they cleared their throat. I jumped and used the shirt to cover myself. A man in a twin tail dress coat stood with his eyes cast upward, held a pile of light blue towels. "I brought you your towels Ma'am."  I couldn't speak, so I slipped the shirt on and typed a message on my phone. "Thank you. Please put them on the vanity. Also, please just call me Leto.."  He read my message and did as was told and bowed to me. "I do apologize, but I am required to call you Ma'am."  I typed another message. "Stop that! I am of no royal blood! Please call me by my name." I stomped over to him and shoved my phone in his face. Just by the scent, I could tell that he was human.  "I apologize Miss Leto." He bowed again. I growled in frustration. He didn't flinch. He must be one of the few humans to actually know werewolves exist. Before I could type another message, he had already turned away and left. I let out a sigh. I opened the doors to the closet and walked in, looking at all the beautiful dresses and designer clothes that were neatly put in there. I picked out a light pink dress. I slipped the dress on. It was a bit big, but that was okay. I fell to mid thigh. I stepped out of the closet and jumped back in. Jacin was standing in my room. "Hey." He said. "I didn't mean to startle you. I did knock." I stepped out and smiled, spinning in a slow circle. When I looked back at him, he was turning the same shape of pink as my dress. I couldn't help it, I giggled. It was the first sound I made since I woke up in the hospital other than harsh whispers and squeaks. Jacin smiled. "A sound. That looks promising." It was my turn to blush now. "I heard you singing in the back yard at your parents pack house. I liked it. I'm not sure what you were singing, but it sounded lovely." He put his finger on his chin in thought. "I think the lines I heard were something like, 'In a town in the wood at the top of a hill there's a house where no one lives'. Something along those lines." I quickly dashed to my bed and snagged my phone putting on the song. I could not stop the huge smile that was spreading on my face. He smiled at the song. "Yes that one." He looked at the title. "Creepy Doll. Well, I would say dolls are creepy." He laughed. I tired to test my voice again, but nothing. I let out a sigh and paused the song. I typed out a message to him. "Jacin, I want to sing, but my voice won't work. Do you know what the Doctor said about it?"  He read the message and gave me a sad look. "The Doctor said that you could get it anywhere from 24 hours or a year.. He said that you suffered from a lot of trauma that night and it will take time for it to heal fully." I looked down at the floor. "I know how you feel. I can feel what you feel."  I blinked back my tears ans squared my shoulders. I was not going to let this get me down. I was going to try to be happy and outgoing. At least as much as my fears would let me. I reached out and took Jacin's hand. The sparks exploded on my skin. It was an addicting feeling. He looked at me and I could see the surprise in his eyes. He must have not thought that I would ever touch him. Don't get me wrong, I was terrified that at any moment, he would turn and hurt me. I pulled him to the door with a smile. He followed with ease. "You want to go somewhere?" I nodded and pointed to the window. "Why not try to link him? It might work." Demeter spoke. I knew she was fascinated by him. Same with ever other she-wolf and human girl.  I took the chance and opened my link to him. It was barely there, but I managed to take a hold of it and form a connection. "C-Can you h-hear me?" Jacin jumped and looked at me. "How did you do that? I've tried to link you for a while now but I couldn't find you."  Heat rose in my cheeks. "I usually don't keep my mind open. I always have my mind closed." He smiled. "I'm glad I can talk to you now. Even if its only one side that can be heard to others." He laughed.  I couldn't help but laugh too. "I want to meet him!" Demeter shouted, throwing herself against the cage in my mind.  "I don't know Demeter... He may not be ready for you yet." "Ready for who? Who's Demeter?"  I felt my face go very hot. I had forgotten to close the link to him. "S-She's my wolf." "Kane wants to meet his mate." He was blunt, but I could see the pink in his face get darker. I took a deep breath and let Demeter take over. I knew her eyes were a very bright green, but I didn't think Jacin would react to the difference. "Oh my. That is a very beautiful shade of green." I just hoped that Demeter wouldn't do anything stupid.  "H-hello. I... I'm Demeter."  Jacin's eyes turn from there usual brown to a bright gold. His wolf was out now. "Mate." He growled.  Demeter shrank back. Her and I have never seen how mates were supposed to do anything. We were literally in the dark on everything wolf related. "M-Mate." Her voice sounded like it was trembling.  He stepped closer to us and Demeter coward away. She was becoming afraid. Kane didn't seem to notice. I forced Demeter back  and took over. "S-stop!" I screamed into the link. My scream seemed to have knocked him out of his trance and he stepped back with a whimper. His eyes went back to brown.  "A-are you okay? Did Kane hurt you? Did he scare you?" Jacin was so worried. I began to tremble. It was very noticeable that I was shaking. "I'm so sorry.. Leto, please forgive me." I gave him a small smile, but I could tell that he was hurt that I had gotten scared of him.  The rest of the walk out of the house, or should I say palace, was slow and quiet. I kept my link open to him, but no words were said. He kept a step or two away from me. I wanted to close the space, but I was still shaking so we just left the space there and kept walking.  We walked for a while on the palace grounds. A couple of brawling males bumped into me, and I fell. I squeaked at the pain of being cut open on the rocks. The males stopped at rolled to their back exposing their bellies to Jacin when he growled at them. I looked at my bleeding hands and scraped knee. One of the males, a black and brown fur color crawled closer to me and exposed his belly to me. I knew it was only an accident. I wasn't mad at all. I put my head down on his belly, not wanting to get my blood in his fur. His fur was soft. When I lifted my head, he rolled and gently rubbed his snout against my cheek. I guess this is how it was to be accepted into a pack. To be one of them. I looked at Jacin. "Tell him that I'm okay please?"  He gave me a slight nod. "She says that she is okay." "And that he needs to make his fur a little softer." I giggled. "She says that you need to-- Wait, what?" He looked at me, and I giggled. He shook his head and sighed. "And that you need to make your fur a little softer."  The black and brown wolf tilted his head and gave me a strange look. "I like soft fur, and if you keep it soft I'll come care for the mats." "Do I have to say that?" Jacin's cheeks were pink again. I nodded. He sighed. "She likes soft fur. And if you keep it soft, she will come care for the mats." He paused for a moment. "Of course she is! I would never take a mistress! She is my fated mate." He cheeks and ears looked like that would feel hot if I touched them. I couldn't help it. I burst into laughter. They all looked at me. I pulled my phone out and typed. "Jacin, you face looks like it would be hot to the touch. Mr. Almost soft, I am Leto, pleased to meet you. And Mr. White fur, please stop laying on your belly. I won't hurt you."  Jacin read the message out loud. "The almost soft one is named Bowen and the white one over there is his brother Kody. They are training to be your guards."  I furrowed my brow. "My guards? Why? Bobo and Koko don't need to be my guards." Jacin burst into laughter. Bobo and Koko looked at each other than at me and tilted their heads. Jacin recovered from his laughter. "She's calling you Bobo and Koko." Their jaws opened for a moment before they covered their snouts with their paws. "You need guards because you are my mate. Many will want to kill you just to weaken me."  I looked at my hands again, but they were healed, same with my knee. I was healing like a normal werewolf now. That made me smile. Jacin bent down and wiped the blood away so I didn't stain my dress. "Run? Please?" Jacin smiled.  "Sure. Let's go for a run."  I smiled and stood up. I hadn't put shoes on so that was easy enough. I lifted my dress over my head to reveal that I had nothing on underneath. Bobo and Koko turned away. I giggled and shifted, which still f*****g hurt! I yipped and pounced at the freedom. I didn't know which one was younger, but I was sure it was Koko who was. I pounced on him. He yelped at the impact. "Could you not act like a pup!" Demeter yelled at me.  "Shush! I haven't gotten to play with other wolves ever. If I wish to act like a pup I will." I growled at her. She huffed and went back into my mind, closing the link. When I looked back at Koko and Bobo, they were watching me with curious eyes. "Can you hear me?" I opened my link to them. "Yup." They both said.  Oh Goddess.. They heard what I said. "You really haven't gotten to play with other wolves? Like, ever?" Koko asked. I lowered my head. "Never.. I wasn't allowed to.."  "Who the hell said that you couldn't play?" Bobo spoke up. He sounded angry. "My mother and father.." My ears went flat and my tail went between my legs.  "Is your mother some sort of slave driver or something?" I nodded. Three wolves growled. I whimpered and lowered myself to the ground. "Oh don't be afraid. We won't hurt you. If anything, us two goofy brothers will help you experience a whole lot of things that you haven't before." I wagged my tail. I liked that idea. I wanted to know what it was like to live in a pack for once.  "Come on, let's go for a run. I sadly don't have much time left before I have to go to cram school." Jacin said. "School.. Where would I be going to school? This place isn't anywhere near my old school.."  "You'll go to school with us. You'll be in all our classes but one." Bobo yipped happily.  "Why only one that I won't be in with you?" They laughed. "Because you are a girl. You girls don't normally enter males gym class."  "I don't care for that. I'd rather not be alone in a new school again.." They looked at Jacin. "Alright I'll talk to father about it." I yipped happily and pounced around. I liked this. These two brothers were my first friends and Jacin was my mate. I couldn't be any happier. Except for going for a run. I yipped at them and took off into the trees. They struggled to keep up with my small size.  After returning from our run, Bobo and Koko had to go off and get their clothes. I, however, shifted and slipped my dress back on. "I'll take you to the kitchen. Bowen and Kody will meet you there." I followed Jacin to the kitchen. It was huge. I mean, this kitchen held five industrial sized fridges and freezers. How big was this pack!? Jacin leaned down and planted a gentle kiss on the top of my head. I froze. "Find something to eat. I hate how skinny you are." He said then left the kitchen. I sighed and walked around the kitchen, but I was too afraid to open anything, so I just sat on the counter and waited for Bobo and Koko. I don't know how long I waited, but I got bored of waiting and jumped down. I squared my shoulders and opened everything in search of something to eat. I settled for making stake and eggs. Something that I knew would be filling. I pulled out my phone and turn on some music. I tested my voice again, it came out better. Scratchy, but a whole lot better. I settled on just humming with the tunes as I cooked. I guess it was a good thing it was about dinner time anyways. I ended up cooking for the entire pack because they liked the smell of my cooking. Bobo and Koko came into the kitchen last. I opened my link to them. "What took you so long?" "Sorry. We got asked to see Uncle Ty." It turned out that these two were actually twins. That was rare for werewolves.  "King Ty?" I was confused. Did they mean the king or someone else. "Yeah. He's our uncle. He asked us to move into your room for a week. He has a bad feeling. When he has a bad feeling, he doesn't take the chance. Kinda why he went to your parents territory."  He came to my parents house because of a bad felling? Now I have to sleep with these two brothers in my room for a week because of a bad feeling?  I opened my mouth and closed the link. "Are you sure his feeling has something to do with me?" My voice was raspy, but It was starting to work again.  "Yeah. He knows just by the feeling he gets. It also depends on how strong it is. He's able to tell where that person is just by that." "Strange." My voice cracked.  "We are used to it." They tended to speak in unison. I've heard that human twins did this often, but I never thought werewolves had that thing too. What was it called again? I glared at them as I thought. I never noticed that they were starting to fidget nervously under my glare. "Twin telepathy!" I blurted out. They jumped and tilted their heads.  "What?" "Twin telepathy. Twins are often able to speak in unison without trying. They can also tell where and how far away their twin is. Also if one was to get hurt, the other would know where and how badly." My voice was getting clearer. Apparently the longer I was not stressed or afraid, the faster I healed. These boys would be good for me. "So.. Wait... You're saying because we are twins, that we have some sort of super powers?" "No. It's not exactly a super power. More something that only twins can do. 98.4 percent of twins have this ability." They even blinked in unison. "Do you two share a bed?" "Yes. We have always shared a bed." "That explains everything. You're bond is extremely strong. That also explains why I can link one of you, and both of you will hear me." I bit my bottom lip, realizing just how much of a nerd I sounded like. Heat rose to me cheeks. "I-I'm sorry. Do you want some dinner? I made plenty if you're hungry."  "You're a nerd? Awesome!" I groaned in embarrassment and served them their plates. "We will not eat until you have a plate of food in front of you." I sighed and grabbed a plate of food. "I have mine, now you boys eat."
