Sterling had no idea how long he and Zeke had slept. He also didn’t know what time it was when the ringing phone startled him awake. It came from somewhere on the floor, but it didn’t sound like his ringtone. He gently extricated himself from Zeke, still sound asleep, as he then searched for the phone. Fortunately, he found it almost immediately and looked at the screen. It was an unknown number. He was going to instinctively reject the call, but since it wasn’t his phone, he made his way toward Zeke, who was slowly waking up.
“Is it my phone?” Zeke asked, sounding sleepy and rather incoherent.
Sterling passed the phone to him. “It’s an unknown number. I’m going to the bathroom.”
