Gaia

Introduction

A village sits in the midst of a field that is surrounded by a dark forest that gives you the eerie feeling of being watched by someone or something. Hundreds of torches light the village dirt paths that wind in and out of all of the homes, shops and one path leads out of the village into the forest. The echoes of women chanting, calling for Mother Gaia, to help rid their homes of an evil spirit. The women are dressed in fabric made of hemp and their eyes are shielded by white cloth. They are spreading hemp oil on the ground as they dance an old traditional song to call to Mother Gaia in times of need. The women of the village chant louder and louder with their pleas for Mother Gaia to come free them from an evil which has been plaguing their village for centuries. Suddenly, everything becomes silent, and the flames from all the torches throughout the village all go out. In complete darkness, a musty smell fills the women's nostrils and the loud screams of the children and men of the village fill the air. The women start to yell out for their loved ones but silence fills the air again and the darkness of the village engulfs its inhabitants.
