Sheryl admired the new bark as she pushed and swirled it around in the bed that bordered the scenic walkway between the swimming pools and the tennis courts. This wasn’t the most-used path, but it deserved to be beautiful too, for anyone who chose to come down this way. She exhaled as she stood up, dusting her hands on her pants though she wore gloves. She loved getting her nails done, and the gloves were essentially to ensure she wasn’t just throwing money away at the salon. Her back pulled, and sweat beaded on her forehead and the back of her neck. She wiped her face, sure she’d just scraped bark across the bridge of her nose. She didn’t care.
