His Sunshine

Chapter 1

Angelina

I woke up feeling happy and excited today, after all it is my eighteenth birthday celebration. I went to my ensuit bathroom, taking a quick shower, wearing my blue summer dress and black pumps very fast then I went out of my room, taking two stairs at a time rushing straight to the backyard.

As soon as I reached there, I stood and watched everyone of the servants busy with preparations, other servants were covering seats with black and gold seats covers, some were hanging fairy lights around the huge pillars of my backyard porch. The theme of the party is black and gold, looking at everything coming together I knew I made the right choice of colour for my birthday celebration.

"Happy birthday sweetheart" someone said behind me,I turned and screamed

"Dad!!!, you came I thought you said you have business today" I said hugging him tight.

"And miss my princess's birthday?" He said laughing a hearty laugh, making me to laugh along with him.

"This is the best birthday present ever" I said tears filling my eyes and letting my tears slide down my beautiful face

"Shhh, don't cry my princess, I made plans with my vice president Charlie and put him in charge only for today as I wanted to celebrate your birthday with you, I even took the early flight from Durban to come to Cape Town only for you sweetie" My dad said as he brushed tears away from my eyes.

"Thank you dad for making time for me"

"Enough crying baby, where is your mother" He asked looking around the backyard

"Mother is in the city center to pick up my dress for today as she doesn't want me to see it,she said it's a gift from her to me" I said as I smiled , interwinding my fingers with dad

"Okay baby let's get inside now and prepare you for your party this evening".

Damon

I am in the living room with my parents discussing why I have to go with them to this eighteenth birthday celebration of his friend's daughter.

"I still don't understand why I have to go with you guys, you know that I have plans with my girlfriend Katie"I said feeling agitated but trying not to show it

"That is exactly the reason why you are coming along with us, you know very well that I don't like that girlfriend of yours" My dad said

"You're being unfair dad, you're doing it on purpose"

"I'm glad you are catching up" He said sacarsm dripping from him

"Dad when will you understand that I love Katie" I asked with my slightly raised voice

"Watch your voice young man" mom scolded

"Okay I'm sorry"

"We want only the best for you son, I know sometimes I am hard on you but I want to see you do well in life and not make a mistake by marrying Katie" My dad tried to reason

"My heart only wants her dad nobody else I thought you can relate since that's how you feel about mom"

"Don't compare your situation with Katie with your mother's and I situation" Dad said calmly

"Okay I hear you but..." I was cut off by my mother

"Can we get going I don't want to be late for the celebration" she said trying to ease the tension in the room

"Okay" dad and I said in unison.

We arrived at the party happening in Mr Azziz and Selena Smith mansion, I took in my surroundings the fairy lights,black and gold adorning the chairs, black and gold stretch tents everything screams perfection, I took a glass filled with moet champagne from a passing waiter and continued to look around that's until the band stopped playing, huge french doors opening revealing a young girl walking slowly towards the crowd. I drank my champagne with thoughts filled about Katie and not replying to my texts, she's really angry at me for postponing our date today.

"I have a lot of apologizing I need to do" I thought to myself as I took sip after sip from my glass with that I sighed, wishing that this party could end so I can be on my way to my girlfriend's place and show her good time as a way of apologizing....
