Chapter Seven

Christopher POV

I jump started my day with anticipation as I knew Mason and I would be heading back to Portland. Usually we don't head back this soon but I needed to go and see her. I haven't been able to stop thinking about her and I wanted to know her name.

I was drying off after my shower, about to get ready when there was a knock on my door. Before I could answer the door opens and in walks Hannah, a girl I was in a relationship with a year ago. She was unbearable in the relationship and after I broke things off she just always stuck around.

"Hey handsome." Hannah says leaning on the door.

I sigh, "Hannah, what are you doing here?"

She pushes herself from the door and walks towards me. Wrapping her arms around my neck and going in for a kiss. I turn my head away and grab her arms to push her off of me.

"Come on Hannah knock it off." She whines and pulls my face and presses a forced kiss on my lips. I growl and push her away from me. "I said KNOCK IT OFF!" My Alpha radiated from me. Hannah stood there wide eyed. I sighed. "Get out of here Hannah."

"Why do you hate me?!" She cried.

"Because of this Hannah! Your like a clingy child! You hang all over me and you whine!! Who the f**k let you in here anyways?!" I asked angrily.

"Your father." She spat at me.

I narrowed my eyes at her. I turned to her with my arms crossed over my bare chest. "And why the hell would he do that?"

"I guess..he's under the impression that, you and I-" I put my hand up. I'd heard enough. I walked up to her and grabbed her wrists. " Whatever, impression my father is under I'm going to set him straight because there is no you and I Hannah, I've found my mate."

"What?!" She shrieked. And I saw her eyes turn to slits. "Who is she?!"

"She, is going to be my Luna and that's all you need to know for now. Now see yourself out. I'll be sure to tell the staff to strip you of your access into my home." I say as I guide her out of my room and lock the door.

Please let that be the last I hear of her I say to myself rubbing my hands down my face. I continued getting ready so I can head to Lincoln High.

3 hours later, we exit our car and walk up to Lincoln High meeting the pack at the entrance of the school. Gia, one of the pack members gave Mason and I an update that word was going around about a wolf hunter moving to town. I told her to let me know if the rumors checked out. Mason stayed back and spoke to the other pack members as I walked into the school, with only one thing on my mind. To find her.

Looking at the students passing by me, I start feeling a tug at the pit of my stomach. I stopped and looked around and that's when they caught my eye. My mate, standing at the lockers with Asher. His arm around her waist, and caressing her face. I couldn't stand it! Seeing him near her. As I watch them, fire starts burning inside my chest and the girl looks at me. Asher starts chuckling then she jumps back. She says a few words to him and walks away.

I watched as Asher stared after her. Man, I wanted to pound on him. But we weren't linked, not yet so getting into it with him would be premature. Asher turned and when he saw me he walked straight to me. "Hey, Gia tell you 'bout the hunter?"

"Ya, we gotta find out who he is and what he's doing around here. We have other hunters here but they leave us alone. It makes me uneasy not knowing about a new threat."

"Technically we are just here to find our missing members right, then head back home?" Asher asked.

"Why? Ready to head back home already?" I ask with a smirk.

"Nah, I'm trying to make something happen with a girl here if you know what I mean." He says with a devious grin.

I narrow my eyes at him knowing he speaks about my mate."You know, just because your new here the rules still apply Asher. You are to respect and protect woman. Not degrade them."

"Uh, ya of course. I only meant take her out you know. Dinner, movie that sort of thing."

"Uhuh. I'll catch you later. I got a few things to do around town. I'll be back for lunch."

Asher bowed his head out of respect. Even though I haven't accepted the title, everyone knew I was next Alpha in line. The decision to take the Alpha position became more enticing thinking about the girl as my Luna. I couldn't wait to have her. But I will have her.

Sitting at the café with Mason, we talked about the potential danger of a new hunter in Portland. Though it isn't our territory, we came here because its known for having a handful of hunters around. Most of them old and retired. But new hunters pose a problem. You never know what agenda they have when in a new town.

"So..." Mason says. "Did you find your girl?" He grins at me.

"Ya, I seen her." I say taking a sip of my drink.

"Annd?"

"And she was with Asher." I growled.

"s**t! Well you know Asher likes to mess around so if your planning on taking her as your mate then you better get a move on before Asher tries to 'take her out'!" Mason says with air quotes.

"Dammit! I didn't want to rush into this!! I wanted it to happen on its own. This pull is strong. I can't sleep, I can't think. I've never wanted to be with one girl this much before. Its driving me crazy!" I growl thinking about Asher with his hands on her.

"I'm going to head to the school. Wanna come?" I ask him.

"Nah, I'm going to chill here for a bit. Gia is suppose to head this way so we can do lunch. Its in 30 anyways."

I smirk at him. "Gia huh?" He starts smiling. "Alright, I'll see you. Meet me at the school later."

"Need the car?" He offers.

"I think I'll walk. It's a nice day. I say as I start walking to Lincoln.

Walking around the halls I see students walking in every direction trying to get to their next class and I see her. She's walking and I decide to block her way. She bumps into me.

"Oops! I'm so-." She begin to say sorry and stopped cold.

"Hi." I say.

"Hi" She says. "Is this gunna be a thing now?" I look at her with a raised brow. "You bumping into me?"

"Uh I think you bumped into me this time." I smirk at her.

"Hmm, agree to disagree." She says with an eye roll. She tried to walk past me so I stepped in front of her again.

"What's your name?"

"Kat."

"Short for?"

She just looks at me and I tell her my name. "Chris."

"Ya, heard your friend say your name before you rushed off yesterday."

I smiled at her amused that she'd even remember."So, where are you off to?"

"Well, if you'd step out of my way you'd see I'm trying to get to my next class. But why do I get the feeling your trying to stop that from happening?"

I step close, and look down at her. "Is that what you want? You want to go?" Our eyes were locked and I started walking forward slowly backing her into a wall. Her breathing was coming out slow and shallow. I leaned down to whispered in her ear. "What's the matter? 'Kat' got your tongue?" I pulled back a bit to look at her. Her eyes wandered and I realized she was looking at my lips and I looked down at hers and saw them part as she sucked in a breath. It made me smiled. I wanted to kiss her so bad it made my fire ignite!

"Very clever." She says out of breath. "And yes. It's what I want." She says and steps around me and walks off leaving me alone in the hall. I stared after her. Seems she has that affect on people. I'm not easy to get rid of. And this only make me want her more.
