Arriving home, Mason and I made our way up to the condo. We both decided it best to keep the file secret until we knew with absolute certainty that she was Kiana, the missing daughter. It's like I had never left because I walked in and I found my father and Alpha Solace sitting on the couch. The two Alphas stood and greeted Mason and I.
I introduced Mason to the Alpha and he bowed his head in respect to my Beta.
"Nice to meet you young man. Chris, it's a pleasure to see you again. How has your trip been? Anything interesting come up in Portland?" Asked Alpha Solace.
"As a matter of fact, sir we are getting more and more info as the days go on. I think it wise to get all the information I need before jumping into action. I do, however want to speak to you about your daughter Kiara."
"My daughter?"
"Yes sir, where you able to bring something of hers? So that I may pick up her sent?"
"I did, my question to you though is how are you going to find my daughter when my men have been unsuccessful? What will you do differently?"
"I'm going to start with the night of the incident. Gather any information you know about the hunter and his men. Someone must know something about that night. Then the item you brought me belonging to Kiara will help me pick up anything. I also have Mason and members from our pack that will help. Trust me sir, I will find your daughter for you." The Alpha smiled and thanked me.
My father sat there looking cross at me. "Chris. I bumped into Hannah a few days ago. Is there anything you want to tell me?"
I growled at the mention of her. "Nope. Nothing at all."
"Is that so? Because she says that you kicked her out and told her never to return."
"Yes dad, I did. I don't want to see her anymore. And before you ask why I'll tell you. She is insufferable! She whines, she clings, and she has no respect for my personal boundaries. She is not someone I want as my Luna."
"Son, sometimes you can't be picky. And you haven't found your mate so it complicates things."
"Actually sir, he has." Mason says. I narrow my eyes at him and he smiles looking proud of himself.
"Is that so?! That is wonderful news! When will I meet the lucky she wolf?"
"It's complicated."
"Oh? How so?"
"Uh..she doesn't really know she's a wolf."
The room went silent and the look on my father's face and that of Alpha Solace were of confusion and surprise. "What do you mean she doesn't know?!" My father asks.
"How is that even possible?!" Alpha Solace asked perplexed.
"It seems she grew up very guarded by her father. Thinking maybe he was trying to protect her from hunters."
"A young she wolf is more dangerous if she doesn't have control of her instinct and her emotions! This is outrageous!! You bring that poor girl here and her father if they need protection. We need to get her the proper training if she's going to be your Luna." My father was livid at the thought of a she wolf being unprotected. That's one thing about my father is he prides himself in keeping woman safe and protected.
"Let me do this my way dad. I have to ease her into it and speak to her father."
"I'll go with you."
"No, you won't. This is my decision, besides. I'm dragging Mason along with me. Kat will freak if she feels she's being closed in on."
"Finally making Alpha decisions are we?" My father says with a smirk
"It's time right. But I won't become Alpha without my Luna." I turn to Alpha Solace, "Sir if you can get me what I need I'd like to start searching for your daughter. Mason and I will get back to you as soon as we have something."
The Alpha nods. "I'll have one of my men bring it to your room."
"Thank you sir, dad. I'll see you soon. We're heading back to Seattle tonight." I turn and walk away with Mason on my heels. " I should really kick your ass!" I whispered to Mason as soon as we were out of earshot.
He chuckled and shook his head. "Hey I did you a favor. Your dad was about to suggest Hannah as our Luna and I was NOT about to let that happen so..your welcome." I smiled and shook my head as we went to my room to get an overnight bag together.
