Lily's POV
As I wake up I stretch out my still achy body before getting out of bed and peeling off the black dress from yesterday. It now had several small holes near the bottom from the bushes in the woods. I pull on another dress empty out the duffel bag and start cleaning up the cabin with what I had available which wasn't much. The small space took no longer than 4 hours to get into shape on the inside. The outside will stay overgrown at least that way it has some camouflage. If there is a cabin here I wonder if there is anything else around, I have got to get some supplies to live out here.
I fly up a little above the trees to see if I can see anything I look around and see what looks like a small town about a mile or two from where I was so I landed and began walking that way carrying my now empty duffel bag. Walking is safer then flying they will be watching the skies I thought as I continue on towards the town. As I got closer I grew more cautious it was so quiet you could hear a pen drop. I looked around and saw broken down buildings and a few still standing proud one of which had a large sign with "Montone Library" printed in large letters. Another building looked to be a school, a few houses and one store? What kind of town is this I thought to myself as I walked towards the library.
I pushed open the thick doors with a loud creaking noise and walked in. The building was lit by large windows in the side that faced the sun a few plants had crept into the room from cracks in the floors and walls but the books still looked beautiful. Some covers were scratched but there were easily 200 books in this small library. In the back corner was a couple tables with chairs and one desk. I looked through the desk and found 2 cloth bags and I filled them with books about the supernatural, a book on nature, and a couple books on survival. Only about six books would fit in each bag so I'd have to come back tomorrow I still have to look in the store and the houses before going home. I left the library and shut the door this place has been abandoned for years.
The store was small and had plants growing from the cracks in the floor. I filled my duffel bag with a few new outfits, knives and a couple puzzles I found. I remember humans in hell told me about their favorite past times and a few mentioned puzzles. I also grabbed paper and pens and some towels, I have to come back tomorrow and get anything else I need. I left the store closing the door behind me and walked back to the cabin, I emptied out my bag and took a shower. While I was in the shower I decided that tomorrow I need to get a bookshelf in here, so I can keep the books from the library and have them organized. I got out and got dressed in some shorts and a shirt that I cut the back out of with my nails.
I decided to explore the area around the house, I walked around for over an hour before I found the most beautiful tree. The tree was large with many twisty branches going off in every direction with big green leaves all over it and moss growing up the tree. I climbed up about half way and leaned back on the branches, I sat there for hours thinking about everything. Thinking about the little girl I let go, about how that led me to my mate and about the fact I had to run away without him. I must have fallen asleep because when I woke up it was dark and I could see so many stars in the sky and one was falling. I watched it fall and jumped out of the tree and ran towards where I heard it crash only to see that it wasn't a star it was a woman. She had scrapes and cuts all over her, I climbed down into the crater she left and picked her up deciding to bring her back to the cabin. I laid her in the bed and I slept on the floor, I have so many questions when she wakes up, she kinda looks like me.
I woke up to a loud screaming and I jumped up to see what was going on, the girl on the bed was screaming and clawing at herself. I quickly grabbed her arms to stop her from clawing and tried to wake her up. Her eyes opened and the woodsy green took me by surprise. "You're ok I found you when you fell" I said whenever her eyes met mine. I slowly let go of her hands and sat at the edge of the bed "My name is Lily, what's yours" I asked and could see that she had calmed down a little. "Wendy, Wendy Lockheart" she said sitting up and big white wings with some red feathers sprung from her back. "Lockheart? That's my last name. How did you tuck your wings?" I asked confused. "I'm an Angel, I learned to tuck my wings when I was young, just concentrate on them getting smaller and disappearing. Lockheart is my father's name he was banished from heaven years ago once they found out he was part witch." She said looking at my wings. "Why were you cast out?" I asked and she told me about how she was part witch too and had accidentally cast a spell that hurt a few people and was banished as well. I told her about how I was banished to earth and about how I am being hunted by demons that want to take me back. At least I'm not alone I thought to myself as I headed out for the day, I have to find another bed and a bookshelf to put in the cabin. I'm going to ask Wendy to stay for awhile, after all she is probably my sister.
