I lay awake for the third night in a row. I can hear Jared’s steady breathing next to me and it soothes my restless mind a bit. I have been practicing a little in the dark. I've managed to float a few objects without starting a freaky tornado. Jared turns in his sleep and puts his arm on me, the book drops on the floor that I’ve been levitating. He jumps up and reaches for his gun; I start to giggle, “I’m sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.”
“What are you doing?” He asks, rubbing his eyes.
“I’ve been practicing.” I smile. I’ve been in a remarkably good mood for the last few days, Jared is wearing only his boxers and he looks good. He gets back in bed and I glance at the clock, it's three in the morning and I’m wide awake, he pulls me to him and I’ve never felt safer.
