I wake up in Jared’s arms and feel extremely hungry. I carefully take his arm off of me and get out of bed. I pull on my nightshirt but I can’t find my panties. I decide who cares and tip toe upstairs, the sun is so bright that I have to stand still for a moment and close my eyes. The sun feels hot against my skin. How horrible would it be not to ever see the sun again.
I put the kettle on and took some cheese and eggs out of the fridge. An omelette sounds divine. While cutting the cheese the blade slips and I cut my hand open. I scream and the next thing I know Jared is standing next to me, “What’s wrong?” He asks. He is standing there completely naked. “The sun!” I yell worried.
He turns around to face the big window in the kitchen and mutters, “It’s not possible.”
I have no words. How could he be standing here in the sun? Jared walks over to the window and looks out putting his hand out, palm up.
“I can feel the heat from the sun but it’s not burning me.” He says turning his hand over.
“Is this even possible?” I ask confused and walk over to him.
“It shouldn’t be.” He smiles turning around. He picks me up and puts me down on the counter then stands in between my legs and kisses me. I am lost in him.
“How did this happen?” I ask, catching my breath.
“I don’t know but for the first time in almost a thousand years I am able to be in the sun. I’m going to go and get dressed then we are going for a walk.” He says kissing me quickly and disappears into his day room.
Wow. I can’t believe how amazing the last few hours have been. I jump off the counter and go upstairs to change. Jared is waiting for me downstairs unable to contain his excitement. I can’t help but smile, he takes my hand and leads me outside. The sun hits my face and I notice his hands aren’t so cold anymore, “You’re warmer.”
“You never told me that I was cold.” He looks down at me worried.
I shrug, “It didn’t bother me.” We reach an open field.
“It’s so beautiful out here, the green grass and the blue skies not to mention the smell of fresh air.” He says tilting his head up.
“Do you think it was my blood?” I have to ask.
“I don’t know but if it was then we need to be extra careful. It would be very dangerous for you if others find out.”
“But we can’t be sure.” I say out loud.
“No.” Jared says as he stands under a tree looking up at the branches. “We should have a picnic here later.” He suggests with a smile. He looks so happy. Happier than I’ve ever seen him before.
“Sounds perfect.” I smile, “I have to go back to the house and do some chores.”
“Do you want me to go with you?” He asks.
“No. Stay here. I’ll be back in a couple of hours.” I reply. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I had to take him away from here. He is so happy. I turn to leave but he pulls me into his arms and kisses me long and passionately.
I can kiss him all day long; I have a ridiculous grin on my face all the way back to the house; I get inside and start with the laundry, while waiting for the machine; I make some snacks and put them into a picnic basket. When the machine finishes it’s cycle I go outside to hang up the laundry.
I pick up the basket and start walking back to where I left Jared, I find him lying on the grass staring at the sky, he gets up when he sees me and takes the basket from me.
“I wonder if this will last.” He says as he spreads the blanket on the grass.
“I hope so.”
“I got so used to not being in the sun that after a while it didn’t bother me anymore only now do I realize how much I missed it.”
“How did you become a vampire?” I ask. Why haven’t I never brought it up before?
“It happened so long ago, some of the details aren’t so clear anymore but what I do remember is that I was injured, feeling death creep up on me, a young girl appeared from the shadows and at first I thought she was an angel. She fed me her blood and pushed me into a hole. I think I must have died soon after that and I never saw her again, it was difficult to adjust in the beginning. I had no one to tell me what was happening.” He recalls.
“Is that all it takes to become a vampire?” I ask. I thought it would be more complicated than that.
“I think you must die with the blood in your system then you become a vampire the next night. I have never made a vampire.”
“Have you ever killed anyone?”
“Yes. Before I learnt how to control myself or when I needed to in order to defend myself.”
“It must have been so hard.” I say unpacking the basket.
“I figured it out as I went.”
“Like me now, figuring things out as they happen.” I say.
“We. You are not alone in this.”
“I’m glad you kidnapped me.” I grin.
Jared laughs, “So am I.”
When we finish our picnic, we pack everything up and lay down on the blanket. Jared suddenly sits upright and I know something is wrong. I sit up too and gasp when I see a large black wolf running towards us. The wolf changes into a man. Michael? I didn’t know he could do that. Jared tosses our blanket over to Michael who catches it and wraps it around his waist, “What in the hell is going on here? How are you even in the sun?”
“What are you doing here?” I asked surprised.
“You look different. What did he do to you?” Michael asks ignoring my question.
“How did you find us?”
“Through your scent, it took me weeks but I finally found you, now you can be safe.”
“I am safe.” I argue.
“Leave, Michael, you are not welcome here.” Jared speaks up.
“How the hell are you even in the sun?” Michael asks confused.
“That’s none of your business.” Jared replies.
“Did you have s*x with that dead thing?” Michael asks angrily and disgusted as he points to Jared.
Neither of us confirms or denies. It’s none of his business either way.
“I can’t believe this! How could you be so damn stupid?” Michael spits and has a nasty look on his face. He walks towards me but I don’t want him anywhere near me after what he just said. Jared steps in front of me. I see this is going to end badly. All I want is for Michael to stop but he doesn’t.
Michael falls to the ground.
“What just happened?” Jared asks, turning to me.
“I don’t know.” I stammer.
Jared walks over to Michael and says, “He is still alive but unconscious.”
“What do we do now?” I ask, shaking.
“We can leave him here or we can lock him up. If he tells anyone about me or you more will come.”
“Let’s lock him up. Something isn’t right here but I don’t yet know what it is.” I reply. I have this strange feeling that I can’t explain.
“Lock the dog up, it is then.” Jared says picking Michael up easily and carries him to the barn we use to practice in. Jared ties him up with thick chains.
“Do you really think that’s necessary?” I ask looking at the chains.
“Yes. He can be strong I doubt these will even last long.”
“It’s a shame that it has come to this.” I tell him deep in thought.
“I know you care about him but it’s for the best.”
“I understand.” I say walking to the barn door. Jared takes me into his arms and I feel better.
We turn to Michael when we hear him struggling with his chains. “Jess, I know you are scared but I will get you out of here.”
“The only person I’m scared of right now is you!” I yell and walk away. I stop just outside the door where I can’t see Michael.
“You did something to her?” Michael accuses. “She will figure out soon enough what a piece pf s**t you are. Then you better run.”
“Everything you thought turned out to be wrong.” Jared replies calmly.
“You must have done something to her or she wouldn’t be here with you.” Michael responds and I can hear him with the chains.
“You won’t understand what it is that I feel for her.” Jared says quietly. I can barely hear him but his words have a profound effect on me.
“Did you force her to have s*x with you?” Michael asks then I hear footsteps coming my way.
“What is his problem?” I ask, turning to Jared..
“He thinks you are here against your will.” He replies, taking my hand. “You know we can’t keep him here forever.”
“I know but let’s not talk about him right now.” I say. I’m tired and confused and I know I have something to do with passing out but I don’t know what I did.
Jared makes me forget about Michael being tied up in the barn. While he is busy making us a light lunch I go outside to take the laundry off the line. I fold everything neatly and put it into the basket as I go. After we finish our lunch we do the dishes.
“What do you think we should do with him?” I ask while drying a plate.
“I have no idea. This is new territory for me but what I do know is that Dean won’t be far.”
“What is he going to do to us when he finds us?”
“He won’t do anything to you.” Jared replies. I know he didn’t finish his sentence.
“Are you stronger than he is?”
“No.”
“Let’s just run then.” I will die if anything happens to him.
“I don’t want you to live the rest of your life looking over your shoulder.” He says leaning against the counter.
“How long do we have until the sun sets?”
Jared frowns, “I can no longer tell.” He walks into the living room and checks the time. I finish up the dishes and am busy drying the sink when he returns and says, “About three hours, more or less.”
“So it turns out that you are special now too, I’m not the only one anymore.” I smile putting my arms around his waist.
“We still don’t know how long this will last.” He replies.
“Then I’ll just give you more blood.” I smile looking up at him.
Jared cups my face and smiles, “The few hours I got to spend with you outside today was a dream come true.”
“So three hours until the sun sets…” I say putting my arms around his neck; if things don’t go our way tonight I want at least one more chance to be with him.
“What do you have in mind, beautiful?” He asks, lifting his eyebrow.
I take his hand and lead him upstairs to the bedroom. I turn to face him in front of the bed, “Tell me what to do.” I whisper.
“Whatever feels right.’ He whispers back.
“I’m a little shy.” I admit looking at my feet.
Jared puts his finger under my chin and lifts my face up, he picks me up and I instinctively cross my legs around his waist. He lays me down on the bed. I lifted my head to kiss him as he unbuttoned my shirt. I put my hands under his shirt and sat up to take his shirt off. I stand on my knees and he looks different in the sunlight. He reaches for my pants gently pushing my back down on the bed. He slowly pulls my pants off and tosses them over his shoulder. I giggle and then he sits on his knees and looks at me. I love the way he looks at me. He leans over to me and our lips meet he undoes my bra the pushes me down on the bed, he kisses down my neck between my breasts, he pays special attention to both before heading over my stomach planting long kisses long the way he makes his way back up and claims my mouth, I reach for the button of his jeans and struggle to undo it, I feel like I can scream if it doesn’t cooperate. He puts one of his hands over mine and whispers, “Relax.” I let go of the button and continue to kiss him running my hands over his chest and arms. I make my way towards his pants again, this time the button comes undone without a struggle. I push him over and pull his pants and underwear off. He rolls me back over and pulls off my underwear kissing my body as he goes and then comes back up and kisses me, smoothing his hand along my leg then slides a finger inside of me and I gasp.
“Do you still hurt?” He breathes, he is laying next to me on his side while I’m on my back.
“No.” I reply. He keeps up his motion then slides in another finger while I moan he increases his speed and I start moving against him feeling more confident. I grab the pillow behind me and dig my nails into it. I know he is watching me and it’s turning him on seeing me like this. I feel myself tightening while moaning loudly I can’t help it. It feels amazing. Jared removes his fingers and gets on top of me I push him over and straddle him bending down to kiss him. “I want you.” I breathe in his ear. He moans and I feel his tip brushing my entrance. I guide him inside of me and slowly begin to move. He puts his hands on my hips guiding me up and down and I begin to move faster and faster, his hands move from my hips to my breasts and I tilt my head back as I move. I can feel I’m reaching my release and I move faster, I feel him release the same time I do. I kiss him once more before I get off. Oh wow. I lie on my back trying to steady my breathing. Jared turns on his side and pulls the sheet over us. He puts his hand on my stomach and kisses my shoulder.
“That was amazing.” My breathing still uneven.
“Yes it was, beautiful.” Jared says kissing me I can feel myself getting aroused again as his kiss becomes more urgent.
I’m breathing heavily after round two. I will never be able to get enough of him.
“Are you still a vampire?” I ask a while later.
“I think so. Still got the speed and strength.” He replies running his fingers over my shoulder as I lay against him.
“How do you kill a vampire?” I ask running my hands over his chest.
“Should I be worried?” He asks smirking.
I laugh, “No.”
“Well it’s not that easy basically you have to separate the head from the body. We can heal from almost anything except that.”
“Decapitation?” I ask, surprised.
“Told you it won’t be easy but I think I know where you are going with this and if it comes to it I will kill Dean.”
I sit up against the headboard pulling the sheet tighter against me.
“We better get dressed. Who knows how this night will end.” Jared noticing the sun setting. He throws the sheet off of him and gets up retrieving his clothes. I completely forget everything as I watch him getting dressed. He looks over at me, “Aren’t you getting up?”
“In a minute. I like watching you.” I reply and I mean it. He is gorgeous from head to toe, inside and out.
“If we didn’t have all this s**t to deal with, you know what would be happening next, right?”
“I know.” I smile biting my lip. I am very lucky to have this man in my life. I throw the sheet off of m. I can feel his eyes on my every movement as I walk to the closet. I run my fingers through my hair completely aware of my nudity.
“Oh boy.” I hear Jared whisper. It makes me feel so good to know I have this effect on him. He watches me get dressed while I take my time giving him a how. I notice his sharp intake of breath and I’m loving every minute. I return to Jared and see his eyes full of desire, the fact that I can turn him on by getting dressed does wonders for my ego.
The sun has completely set by the time we reach the staircase.
“I can hear them.” Jared says.
“How could he have gotten here this fast?”
“Must have been close by already.” Jared replies, his voice is strong but I can see he is worried.
He holds out his arm in front of me blocking me from walking down any further. I stop and look at the door. There is a pit in my stomach and a few seconds later the door flies open and Michael and Dean walks in looking up at us.
“Stop this foolishness Jessica. Come with me immediately.” Dean demands.
“No.” I say firmly crossing my arms over my chest.
“Please! You’re not safe here.” Michael pleads.
“You are behind in your training. You are weak.” Dean scolds.
“What training?” Jared and I ask simultaneously.
“The training you require to amplify your gift and keep you safe from those who want to harm you.” Dean replies.
“You better tell me what I am Dean.” I demand. My voice is steady and demanding and I’m proud of myself.
“You are a very powerful witch.”
