The Only Rabbit Around

281 Words
Once upon a time, there was a rabbit walking alone in a frozen forest. This rabbit’s name was Alfred. He was a rather small rabbit with a pink nose and brown fur. He wore a red vest and carried a satchel everywhere he wandered. When walking alone in the forest, Alfred stumbled upon a large trunk. "Oh, my! Look at this!" Alfred shouted. He tried and he tried, but Alfred just couldn't get the trunk open. It was frozen shut. "This is the only thing I've seen for miles. I must know what's in here." Alfred decided he would take the trunk with him. It was a little heavy but he dragged it along with him through the cold snow on the forest floor. Once Alfred reached the end of the forest, he wasn't sure which direction he should go in. "Oh no, I don't know what to do anymore." Alfred thought. Then he saw a sign post. The top arrow, pointing to Alfred's left, read the words "Fishing hole." The arrow just below that, pointing to Alfred's right, read "Town cemetery." As Alfred started to turn left, he heard a faint cry for help to the right. So Alfred went to his right, towards the town cemetery. When Alfred reached the town cemetery, he gave a little shout "Hello? Is anyone out there?" Alfred kept calling out as he couldn't see very well through the fog covering the cemetery. It had gotten dark out and the fog made it harder for him to see anything other than dark figures. Alfred didn't hear much other than the chirping of nearby crickets. Until suddenly, "Hello?" a strange voice called out.
