CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

"My lady," A voice called up and rang through Ha Na's ears. She whined, going back to her sleep and yanked away the arms but the voice that kept on pestering her to wake up. "What?!" She snarled and sat up, pulling the duvet away from her body. She flinched when she felt somehow sore below. Feeling like her body is on fire and in pain. But she decided to shake it off, maybe she was just too tired. She glanced at the maid who was frightened and suddenly Ha Na's expression softened. Ha Na gasped, muttering under her breath."I'm sorry. I didn’t mean to shout at you." The maid just nodded, accepting her apology but was still in hesitation to get near making Ha Na sighed, noticing the behaviour of the maid. "I won't hurt you. I'm a human too." The maid's eye widened and lips curved into a smile. Ha Na nodded and smiled. The maid was happy for a second. "I didn't expect you to be a human after all." She muttered, avoiding her gaze. Ha Na raised her eyebrows. "You mean?" "I m-mean, I thought you're a vampire." The maid stuttered making Ha Na giggled. For the first time in her lips, since she got dragged away, this situation made her amused a little bit. "Why did you even think of that? I was captured here." Ha Na sadly smiled, wanting to be nonchalant about it. "It's because the King just asked us to prepare you for the Engagement Ball." The maid blurted out. Ha Na's expression fell as soon as she heard the word engagement. She eyed the maid in confusion. "What? What engagement? Whose engagement?" The maid looked baffled as Ha Na. "Your engagement. Your wedding. You didn't know?" Ha Na felt like the world is now on top of her as she felt a heavy feeling on her body. Her voice cracked, lips turned upside down with her heart dropped on the floor. "W-With who?" "With the the King." KIM SEOKJIN’S POINT OF VIEW "What do you mean you're getting engage, Taehyung?!" Hoseok gritted his teeth, clinching his fist. "And to think that you already announced it to the whole palace without even informing us?!" I watched as Hoseok just slammed his hands on the table in frustration making me roll my eyes and crossed my legs along with my arms over my chest. How Ironic. I watched in amusement. Everyone knew that Jimin has always been against it. But we didn't expect for Hoseok to oppose as well. Hoseok was fine about the King marrying but I guess it startled him when Taehyung announced the engagement so early when he's supposed to wait for years after finding his soulmate though it has been only weeks. I have nothing against Taehyung marrying a human but Hoseok was right. The engagement is way too early. The people will be shock. Everyone will. Especially if their future Queen is a human. Jimin looked at me —must've read my mind as he frowned, unable to speak anything. Somehow, I think that he felt hopeless and powerless. The question is why? Now that I think about it, Ha Na seemed to have a great effect on both Taehyung and Jimin. Does it have to do with their past? Have I encountered Ha Na before? Her aura felts so known to me already. "I already marked her." Taehyung smirked, huffing and emphasizing the word mark for him to let us know who Ha Na really belongs to, directing it especially to Jimin. "It's right for her to become my Queen." "For f**k's sake Taehyung! You marked a lot of girls!" Hoseok yelled, gritting his teeth. Jimin, Namjoon and I just sat there silently. "But they are just blood slaves, Hyung." Taehyung calmly said. "Ha Na is my soulmate afterall." Hoseok let out another frustrated sigh but someone decided to cut off the heated argument. "Taehyung..." Namjoon finally stood up making us looked at him. "I agree with Taehyung." Our jaw dropped at Namjoon who was suddenly siding with Taehyung in this matter. Yes, he's a loyal one to Taehyung, but in this matter, he wouldn't just sit by as well. "Taehyung haven't had any Queen for hundred years. And now that he has found his soulmate, it's right for him to let his soulmate claim the throne, aren't I right?" I looked at Jimin, hoping he would speak out to this matter. But no, he didn't. Why would he not? He should fight for his soulmate as well. She is his soulmate too. Why is he not speaking up? "Besides...this engagement party would serve as the people meeting their future Queen." Namjoon said as he shrugged his shoulders. I sighed, knowing It's always been like this. We fight over some matters. But...Taehyung's marriage is a big one. He is the King after all. After the meeting, everyone seemed to calm a bit. They agreed about the engagement ball with just a few words coming out from Namjoon's mouth. But deep inside, we knew that no one agrees. Just like Jimin who doesn't agree one bit. We knew after knowing him being Ha Na's soulmate as well—some twisted destiny. Hoseok was against the idea because he wanted Taehyung to go through proper marriage process of the King. He was against of the idea where in just a matter of days of meeting Ha Na, he would immediately marry her. And in Namjoon's case, Elisse must've been against her best friend marrying someone like Taehyung, a well known brutal and cold blooded vampire in history. He is Elisse's soulmate. In my case, I felt like something inside me is hurting—I felt guilt and wanting to protect her. I don't have any idea at all. Walking and thinking deeply with my own thoughts, I stopped when I heard murmurs coming from the hallways. My eyebrows furrowed and walked towards the noises to hear familiar voices. "Namjoon hyung..." Taehyung's voice called. There was silence for a second. "Thank you for influencing me back then." "What are you talking about Taehyung?" Namjoon's voice filled my ears. My ears twitched trying to get more. "You told me to steal her away from her lover before, remember?" Namjoon influenced him? Steal her away? Lover?
