I woke from my dreams of Alaska to whispers outside my room. My ears were quick to tune in… preparing for any danger but it was only a pair of maids that were debating about waking me.
A not so soft whisper filtered through my room. “The King made it very clear that we are to treat her like we treated the retired Queen.”
“Specially made meals, bubble baths and helping her dress.” A girl listed off as if repeating everything the King had told them.
A loud huff. “We do all that but she’s a General. She doesn’t like it very much. She’s not making our job easy.”
