Fleur “How is the girl?” Noah’s voice took me by surprise. I had gotten back an hour or so ago and after settling Maisie settled into one of the guest rooms in the main pack house, I had curled up on a sofa and closed my eyes. The memory of the woman’s injuries making it impossible to sleep. I hadn’t expected Noah to be back until morning. “Asleep.” I mumbled. “She will heal, slowly because she is human but there shouldn’t be any permanent damage.” With a sigh Noah settled himself down next to me, his arm across the back of the sofa. I leant against him instantly. My body relaxing as his arms came about me and his scent filled my nostrils. I had been tense. On edge without him. I knew that pack business would take him away from me, but I hadn’t expected it to happen the same night
