Chapter 8

Raela POV

I walk out the door and see Gavin standing at the bottom of the steps waiting for me. I smile at him and walk down the steps trying to focus on not falling because I’m nervous. I stop on the last step and say hi. But I feel my cheeks redden.

“Hey” He says as he grabs my hand

“Hey” I say

I start to lead us to the sidewalk and he stops me 

“Where are you going?” Gavin asks smiling

“Uh home. My house is this way”

“I know. I’m driving you home. Remember?”

“No I thought you were walking me home?” I say 

“I never said I was walking you home. I said I was going to take you home. That involves driving you home” He says smugly

“Mhm. Okay. Lead the way” I say

We walk through the parking lot and I see this older car with the prettiest color blue paint. 

“You gonna get in or you just gonna stand there?” Gavin asks with a smirk on his face

“Shut up I’m getting in.” I say and walk to the door to get in. 

He starts the car and we pull off. I feel so nervous. I am surprised he can’t hear my heart beating. It feels like its beating super loud. He is probably going to tell me he isn’t in to me. Which is expected I guess. But it still sucks. 

“What time do you have to be home by?” Gavin asks pulling me out of my thoughts

“Uh Supposed to be 10:30 but I can be late. Not like they’ll notice. Why?” I ask

“There’s something I want to show you. Somewhere I want to take you. But it may be too far for tonight.” Gavin says looking slightly disappointed

I sigh “Maybe I can tell my family I am spending the night at Anna’s” 

“If you can that would be perfect.” He says smiling

“But I am not going to have s*x with you still. And I have to be at school in the morning.” I say seriously.

“Raela, I’m taking you here so you can get to know me. I’ve never taken a girl here. I am taking you here to show you, I’m interested in more than s*x. I mean of course s*x is good. And down the road I would be interested in it. But right now, I am not interested in s*x with you. ” Gavin says.

“Okay then” I say taken aback a bit

“We can talk about the rest when we get where we are going.” He says 

I pull my phone out and text Anna

Me- Hey if my parents call. I'm spending the nite @ ur house. 

Anna- ok. But where r you really?

Me- with Gavin. Not having s*x. Just talkin and chillin 

Anna- ok

Me- love u too Annabanana 

"Okay. It's all taken care of." I say "Now where are we going?"

"It's a surprise" 

"Okay" I sigh exaggeratedly "So I like your car. It's pretty. I laugh

"It's not mine. It's Jays. My car needs fixed which I plan on doing tomorrow, so for tonight he let me use his car."

“Nice. What kind of car do you have?” I ask

“Uh, you’ll see when we hang out next time” He says. 

“Okay” I say. “How long until we get there?”

“Hmm about an hour, an hour and fifteen maybe.” Gavin says with a shrug

“Okay well, can I take a nap until we get there?” I ask

“Yes” he chuckles

I kick my shoes off and turn sideways in the seat and facing Gavin, and pull my legs up to my chest and fall asleep. 

Gavin POV

We are about 30 min away from the place I am taking Raela and she's been sitting in the passenger seat asleep for the past 45 min. She is cute when she sleeps. She kind of drools.Its adorable. When I asked Jay to borrow his car and told him this is where I was bringing Raela, he asked me if I was sure I wanted to do this. I come here to get away from everything. I don’t bring anyone here. I told Jay about it but he has never been here. I never told him exactly where it is. This is my escape. And I want to show it to Raela. I want her to know I’m serious about her. I get to what looks like a dead end that's just trees but I make left and go onto a hidden pathway. Its a bit of a bumpy ride and it wakes Raela up

“Uh why are we in the woods? Did you bring me here to murder me? I told Anna I was with you so they’ll know it was you!” Raela says

I stop the car and look at her as seriously as I can and say “Yes Raela. I brought you here to kill you. That's why I am using Jay's car instead of my own. So no evidence would be found in mine” I tried to keep a straight face but I started laughing 

She smiles “Just make it quick when you kill me okay” 

“Nah I don’t do anything quick. I always take my time” I say and wink at her

“You’re gross” Raela laughs “So where are we actually going?”

“We are going to my favorite place. My escape. Nobody knows where it is. I never let anyone come here. I go there to escape everything.” I say 

We come to another hidden drive and turn into it and we pull up to the cabin and Raela looks at it in shock. I park the car in the driveway and get out while she's still putting on her shoes and walk over and open her door.

“Ready?” I ask as I hold my hand out 

She takes my hand and we go inside. I turn the lights on throughout the cabin from the panel by the door. It also controls the fireplace in the living room so I turn that on too. We walk into the livingroom and I motion for Raela to sit down. She hasn’t said anything since we got here. Did I mess up by bringing her here so soon?
