“Angelo, we got something from the Caprios.” I don't understand why Hattos is being this giddy while rushing into my office, but I can guess why. I just hope his assumption is not right. He seems to rejoice whenever I have a special problem with the Caprios.
If I didn't know better, I would say he rejoices in my plight. Maybe he truly does. The hidden smile on his face is unmistakable.
“What's in it?” I am surprised the seal is still on the envelope. What he's holding is an envelope bearing the seal of the Caprio Don. Only the leader of the Caprio clan can have access to it, and this only means that the letter, or whatever is in there, is coming from Lucinda Caprio.
I wonder what she wants this time around. Just hope it’s not what I’m thinking.
