I took a step forward, ready to follow Delilah, but before I could, my phone vibrated in my pocket. With a sigh, I pulled it out and answered.
"It's me."
The voice on the other end was soft, familiar. I recognized it immediately.
"Emily."
There was a brief silence before she spoke again. "Can we meet?"
I exhaled, running a hand through my hair. "No problem. I'll come to you."
After ending the call, I turned to head back inside. Just as I stepped in, I saw Delilah walking past me, not even sparing me a glance. Her shoulders were tense, her expression unreadable.
I wanted to stop her, to say something—but now wasn’t the time. I glanced toward Vinie, who was going through some files.
"I’ll be right back," I told him before heading outside.
