I Walked out of the Tai Ammi's Chamber and back to my room. All of it was too much to handle. The whole honor bride thing, the third marriage, Amrit's indifference and rude behaviour and the maid that I saw there who tried to kill her.
I didn't know how long I kept pacing there.
Doubting Tai Ammi was totally out of question. As evening set in, I called a few of my most trusted security guards and gave them the complete description of Tai Ammi's maid and asked them to bring her to me.
Two of them looked at each other and then me in shock and said, "Sultan, the description that your Majesty gave, we found the dead body of one such maid in the corridor this afternoon."
"What?"
"Yes. Your Majesty. Her throat was slit brutally."
