Even though Riley took two part-time jobs to find the money for her mother's treatment, it was not enough. Even Kimberley and Aunty Jay helped her as much as they could. But her mom's treatments were expensive, and above everything, Riley had to spend money unnecessarily because of her mom's stubbornness. For example, her mom would get high from drugs, god knows how she got it, and flush down all the medicine Riley had bought for her. So Riley would have to find money to repurchase them.
Riley was frustrated beyond description. She tried her best to convince her mom to stop all her bad habits and cooperate with her treatments. She even explained the severity of her illness. She let her understand that if she didn't follow the treatments properly, she would die
