Third-Person Point of View When Riley's treatments were over, it was already around midnight. An X-ray was taken, and fortunately, there were no fractures. The doctor suggested it could be a sprain. They pressed ice on the swelling and then wrapped the ankle with an elastic bandage. Painkillers were given because Riley was in unbearable pain. She was asked not to put weight on her ankle and to keep her foot raised above her heart level. When the doctor asked if she needed walking boots or ankle braces for stability, Riley was about to reject them. Still, her helper gestured to the doctor that they needed them.
