"Sera?" Adrian woke, sensing my anxiety through the mate bond. "What's wrong?"
"She won't calm down." The light was getting brighter. "I don't know what she needs."
Adrian took her carefully, trying his own soothing techniques. The crying continued, and now the light was bright enough to hurt our eyes.
