"Monthly assessments?" I read aloud to Adrian. "That's excessive."
"That's them covering their bases. If something goes wrong, they want documentation that they were monitoring the situation." Adrian pulled up the safety requirements. "These standards are actually reasonable. Reinforced training areas, magical dampeners in case of power surges, and medical facilities on-site."
"We already have most of that."
"Then we just need to formalize it. And accept the monthly observer." He looked at me. "It's intrusive, but it gives Luna social interaction. That's worth the surveillance."
He was right, but I hated it. Hated that my daughter would grow up with someone evaluating her every month, documenting her progress, and looking for any excuse to invoke harsher restrictions.
