I woke at dawn on my twenty-fifth birthday to silver light flooding my room.
It poured from my skin, my eyes, my hair, illuminating everything with ethereal radiance. Power surged through me in waves, each one stronger than the last, rebuilding me from the inside out.
It should have hurt. Katherine had warned me the full manifestation would be agonizing.
