Sophia Just after eight in the morning, my phone started ringing, waking me up. I had to admit the bed Sue had picked out was one of the best I had ever slept in. Or maybe I had just been that tired, who knows. Reaching over, I grabbed my phone and answered it without looking to see who was calling. “Hello?” A deep voice filled my ear, “Hello, Miss Kian, this is Frank with Auto Movers. I was just calling to let you know we are ahead of schedule, and if it’s ok with you, we will be able to deliver your car to the address provided today around eleven.” I smiled to myself, “That will be perfectly fine, thank you.” Ending the call, I decided to spend the morning working on my latest book. So, gathering my laptop, I headed down and made myself a cup of coffee before heading out to sit outside. It was peaceful here and super nice out. Opening my laptop, I started reading through what I had written last while I drank my coffee. While I read, I noticed a mistake and corrected it quickly before reading the rest. As I finished, the sound of a motorcycle coming to life distracted me. Looking up, I noticed one of the guys from the MC that had been at the diner last night was leaving the house next door. He had followed me after I left last night, or at least I thought he had. But maybe he hadn’t and had just decided to leave around the same time since he was no longer wearing the same clothes as yesterday. I am going to go with him as my new neighbor. He wasn’t bad looking, actually. In fact, he was gorgeous looking. Tall, short black hair, naturally tanned skin, and well-formed muscles from the looks of it. Not meaning to and unable to stop it, I blushed a bit and smiled when he nodded at me in greeting. I nodded back, though, and watched as he pulled out of the drive across the street and headed down the road.  I worked on my book for the next hour or so before deciding to head in and get dressed. Once my car was dropped off, I would make a grocery run. The fact that my car was arriving sooner than expected was nice. I loved my bike, but it wasn’t the best when it came to shopping. Digging through the boxes in my room, I pulled out a pair of skinny black jeans, a royal blue tank and found a matching royal blue bra and panty set. Once I was dressed, I pulled on the same boots I wore yesterday, pulled my hair up into a ponytail, then did my make-up to match my blue top. By the time I was done and back downstairs, the guys were dropping my car off outside. It didn’t take them long, and they were on their way to their next stop. I wasted no time and headed out to the store. I took my time walking through the store, making sure I got everything I wanted before heading back to the house.  Pulling into the driveway, I noticed someone standing on the porch along with several guys standing around in the yard across the street. Among them was the guy from this morning. As I climbed out of my car, I focused my attention on the woman that was now walking down my front steps. I recognized her the instant she turned around. I had done so much research on her over the last few years. I had even talked to her over the phone a few times. Even though she didn’t know who I was, I knew who she was. She had a large smile on her face until she got within a few feet of me, then her smile faltered slightly. “Miss Woods?” I nodded, “Can I help you?” She faltered a minute, then shook off whatever she was thinking and forced a smile on her face. “Oh, we spoke over the phone a few times. My name is Sue. I just wanted to stop by and make sure everything was truly to your liking.” I mimicked her smile, “Oh yes, thank you again. You did a wonderful job.” She nodded. Her smile grew slightly but then fell again. “I am sorry but have we ever met in person before? I mean not to sound forward or anything, but you look nothing like the pictures that can be found online when your name is typed into the search.” I nodded, “Oh yes, I do apologize. Being a well-known writer at such a young age, I decided to use a pen name, and the pictures found online are of one of my friends who was more than happy to be in the spotlight so I may live peacefully. If you search the name Rose Woods, you will find my friend Gloria Anderson. My real name is Sophia Kian. I do apologize for the confusion.” I watched as recognition of my name filled her face for a brief moment then disappeared. “Oh dear, that makes sense and truly understandable.” We stood watching each other for a few moments. I waited to see if she was going to realize truly who I was. I was sure she had but wasn’t saying anything. After a few minutes, I grew tired of waiting and honestly wasn’t ready to have this conversation with her anyway. “Well, I should be getting these groceries inside.” With a start, she nodded, “Oh yes, I am sorry for keeping you. It was really nice to meet you, and I am glad you like the place. Please let me know if there is anything you would like to change.” I nodded, “Thank you again, and I will do that.” With that, she walked down the drive and joined the guys across the street, walking over to one of the older guys who had been standing next to the guy from this morning. Shaking my head, I started carrying my groceries inside and unloading them. Once they were all inside, I opened the garage and pulled my car inside, ignoring all the guys watching me from across the street. The rest of the day I spent putting all my things away. And since I got everything put away the following day, I was able to start my regular routine. A workout first thing in the morning, shower, breakfast, and then try to get in as much writing as possible. I would do that for most of the week, and then I would find somewhere to go to just get out of the house.
